I think it's a good idea to make a poll for MOTY. But of course juballs should choose the winner, the poll is just to make the decision easier for him. With one exception: if juballs is the winner of the poll, he cannot pick a different member (hint, hint )

hahaha a poll! one thing i have never made at freeones and frankly dont know how to make, i will keep it in this thread, i just ask that members give their selections and reasons why, i will post the winner and everuone will be happy, i mean how can you not be happy with the names up there...

My prediction of finishing order will be:

Can we maybe have a few other of the years to go along with member of the year?...like maybe different categories?...just an idea....its hard to choose between the 5...

BNF does a great job as a mod and he is great at enforcing the rules as well is a really nice person

Nightfly has great opinions and is very well spoken and he always speaks his mind which is what we need here at freeones

Jod0565 is a very friendly member great sense of humor and never causes any problems and is an asset at freeones

Tunsty has a great sense of humor and he allows us to laugh at ourselves but always in a perfect witty never insulting kind of way

McRocket...great thoughts...always has something interesting to write...

Man its gonna be a tough choice...whoever wins is well deserved!!!!

I am really new here, only for six months I take part of the forum, and really it is complicated to choose a "MOTY".

Personally, from the beginning of my participation, someone in particular, help me, teach me, advise me and it always did it really as a Gentleman, and this quality is something that I believe many of you recognize in him, I refer to BNF, to whom I consider as a friend also.

Then, I was knowing other participants, as Colonel, whom also I consider like a friend, who also helps me very much, also I am grateful to jod0565 for his post reply, his collaboration and his sense of humor and because is a friend also.

In the last times Americanharley, it has given me his collaboration and to answered to my questions, advising me, that is to say, I admire many of you by different reasons, as for example to juballs for his threads, of Foxicougar, the lady of the forum, Aggelos21 with his good post reply, to mcrocket for his ingenious responses, to Civickiller80 my friend, and to so many people that by different reasons, would have my vote, Tunsty, Nightfly, Digital, Comanduc, Jacsson77, Pitino, Death blooms08, Spiceworld, jdb67, Vegas Yankee, D-rock, Icerfanpsu, 9inch, Darkman, Om3ga, The Red Shark, Wlfman812, Calm, poggy1, etc. , Well, forgive whom in this moment I forget.

But, it is necessary to choose only one, therefore, and especially, because he is a Gentleman, my vote is for BNF.

As much as I don't want to just choose one, guess I have to.

So my vote is going to go to BNF. I've been on several boards where mod's don't participate or don't enforce the rules and its neither a friendly or peaceful atmosphere. IMO BNF does an excellent job in not only adding to the board but in keeping the peace, and thus truly making the freeones board one of the few boards I still participate on.

Since I'm still a hangout here I didn't know much of anyone, but going through the posts in this board it is obvious that you all are a nice bunch who helps, make us laugh and keep this board alive. So my vote is to Poggy1 and all the others if possible.

Thanks for the vote hiriya....But I don't think I should be in this as I'm fairly new myself as I only been here since begining of Oct.This should goto a member who's been here for a lot longer.Also I don't deserve it as there are a lot better members than me here who deserve it more.

I've been giving this a lot of thought...and I've narrowed it down to two.

Nightfly - First of all...he lives just a few miles from me...so that's worth something! But seriously...his combination of humor and thoughtfulness always make his posts worth reading. He is a long time member (here for all of 2005) who can be both helpful and 'correcting' when need be.

Tunsty - His 'Dumbest Threads Five' was closed, and then, the whole series was shut down. But...he took it all in stride, and has maintained his sense of humor and continues to be a valuable board member where someone else may have left the board feeling bitter. Again...another long term member who has been here the entire year.

I'm not sure I can choose between one or the other...I'd have to go with co-winners.

It has been suggested that we have a Member of the Year, Mod of the Year, and OCSM of the Year. If that's the case then my votes are for...

Lisa Sparxxx - OCSM (Yeah...she doesn't post as much as some of the others...but I like her...so there...:tongue: )

Just so you newer guys that were mentioned harley and poggy. To me it doesnt matter how new you are, you help others contribute alot uphold the rules, you guys do eveything a great member should it doesnt matter if you have only been here for a few months, thats more than enough. Being a great member and being a member for a long time do not go hand in hand. whoever wins all the nominees are great members new or not and Ill leave it at that

I would pick Nightfly.

It would be close between Jod0565 and Nightfly and tunsty.

I exclude BNF because he is a mod. And I really do think that mods are different then regular members. They have different access and different responsibilities - much different. Yes, they make all the posts that they want. But they know and are responsible for the rules backwards and forwards - they cannot get out of line. I can - to a point. I have almost no responsibility - except to my fellow humans to be decent. So I honestly think there should be a yearly mod AND member of the year.
Having typed that - I think BNF is probably the most important poster on here. I think this place would go down the fastest were he to leave. So the best poster of the year is him. But I think of him as a poster/mod. Not a poster/member. So I disqualify him from my list on a technicality.

tunsty's humour and intelligence and non-viciousness are very important on here. Someone to lighten things up. Stupid humour doesn't make me chuckle. But witty humour does. And tunsty almost always does. This place would be heavier without him. He's not an envelope-pusher. But he's a pleasure to have around - imo.

Jod0565 is a delight. Intelligent, deep and seemingly thoughtful. His '5 questions' thingy is/was a classic - orginal and thought provoking, but not controversial. He does not seem to antagonize or push - except in a good way. He just seems to want to enjoy himself and help others to do the same. What more can one ask from a chatroom member?

Nightfly can be a pain-in-the-ass to me, sometimes. And he kisses the hiney's of the 'babe' talent mercilessly. But he is smart, well read, fair and - in the end - willing to be friends to anyone; including me. There is little or no 'pig' in him - at least none that I can see. He is a classy guy. And he brings the board up a notch or two by his presence. I think his presence leaves the largest 'footprint' on Freeones - for the better. So even though I changed my mind several times while typing this, I decided on him.
