the heat need to figure themselves out. 5 in a row with lebron, wade and bosh is embarrassing. worst of all bosh did not get 100 million to score 7 points. come on. Portland is going to be a solid team if they have roy and wallace coming off the bench. granted roy is not the player he was before the injury but he is still good.
That's what happens when both those teams had a cake walk of a schedule early in the year playing against a lot of the weaker teams. According to espn's SOS (strength of schedule) up to date, the Lakers have had the 5th easiest schedule, while the Heat have had the 3rd easiest schedule. Both teams will start to face tougher competition from here on out. Some may look at that as a positive as it may prepare teams for playoff battles, while other may look at it as a negative because it may wear teams out with less opportunity to rest players for the playoffs.

Well that's what the playoffs will be like. There will be a lot of close games, and if teams can't handle it, they're out in a matter of 1-2 weeks.
Another Heat game where nobody outside the big 3 has over 7 attempts from the field. The fact that they can't figure this out is an absolute failure by the head coach. Chalmers and Miller both had 7 and once again Mario has a very efficient shooting night (4-7), but can't get over 10 attempts. Only 20 pts from player other than LBJ, Wade, and Bosh.
It's like we lost our identity. When the Heat had a stretch when they won 20-21 games, they had contribution from a lot of players. They were even the best 3 point shooting team in the league. We've really gone away from that. James Jones and Eddie House are MIA, Mike Miller is ice-cold, and Big Z never plays anymore. These guys need to be more involved again, and that's on the coach because he never plays them.

I'm not saying winning close games don't matter, but I think there's a lot of overreaction. The Heat could have easily won 4 out of their last 5.
I think their close games woes can be corrected. Just give them some time.
I'm not so sure. Playoff games are essentially four, toughly contested 4th quarters. And the Heat seem to be having enough troubles playing in a single 4th quarter per game.
Their lack of leadership, humility, length, a true point guard (Bibby doesn't count) and inside presence will be their undoing. If the Heat aren't able to get out in transition 3/4 of their possessions throughout a game, they are pretty much worthless.
If they can't at least keep it close against the Lakers tomorrow night in Miami, I would say that its time for Heat fans to pack it up. :2 cents:
Please. That "chip" is a giant ~FeAr~ monkey. The only way they beat a "suddenly hot" Lakers team is if the Lakers decide to feel sorry for the Heatles and lay down as a professional courtesy mostly because if they don't let the Heat win than the Heatles will probably close down South Beach to all Lakers.
All though if the Lakers put a beatdown on the Heat, I suppose South Beach might be off limits to LeBron and the Gang :shocked: :weeping:
I don't see the Heat figuring things out against the Lakers--a team that just destroyed San Antone.
I think the reality is that the Heat have hit the Panic Button and everyone except LeBron and DWade is afraid to make a mistake and miss a shot. LeBron and DWade need to reassure the entire team that it's okay to miss a fucking shot. It's not okay to go lazy on D or not dive for balls. The Heat need to find their team spirit before they go to the Xs and Os....imo.
I also think Spoelstra basically screwed the Heat by blabbing to the press about players on the team ******. That kind of embarrassment will never go away until they win a championship.
So you're saying the playoffs are going to be highly contested, and the Heat have trouble in the 4th.

The Heat do have a leadership. Their lead by Lebron James.
Also, the Heat don't need a true point-guard. It would never work anyways with Lebron and Wade on the team. Wade could possibly play without the ball, but not Lebron.
Yes, it appears everyone except Wade and Lebron are playing "tight". And it seems it's effecting them mentally which is destroying their confidence, especially Bosh. Which is why a win against the Lakers could put them over this hump.
Erick will be fired if the Heat do not win a title this year. That's pretty much a guarantee.
