I agree with firing Triano, but Bargnani is our franchise player and main offensive threat, so we cannot afford to give him up. What the Raptors need to do is sign Marc Gasol this offseason and move Bargs from centre so he doesn't need to worry so much about defence. Do that, and the Raptors will be stronger automatically.

The Raptors need a strong inside presence. Unfortunately, it will be tough on Toronto for a while, but they can, if drafting properly, can get back to the right direction in 3-5 years IMO.

Unfortunately, the Raptors aren't what I would call the best team at drafting players. For example, name any of the players we drafted after getting a bunch of Jersey's picks for Carter. Exactly. There's plenty of players in the draft this year that I think would make a good fit for the Raptors, most notably Enes Kanter. If we can grab Gasol in the offseason (likely? I don't know), I think the Raptors will be in a good place. DeRozan is becoming one hell of a player (and dare I say it, the Raptors need to keep him from going south in a few years), Bargs (IMO) should be an all-star, and Ed Davis is going to be great.

You're right, the Raptors don't draft well. That is afront office failure that needs to be looked in to. I don't think Gasol is the answer for them. He's not really a top notch rebounder nor is he a hard defender. Gasol is basically gonna give em' what Andrea does already. I think they should start with a supplementary scorer from the 2-3 position and a clean-up man on the boards. Here's the plan.

Draft: [1st rd.]Harrison Barnes

He's guy you don't really have to work on as far as offense is concerned. He can give you yellow-light scoring right away at either the 2 or 3.

Draft: [2nd rd.] Demetri McCamey

Chi-town guards historically mean BUCKETS, and he's no exception. Heavy, strong PG who can really pay dividends by getting to the FT line. Has an uncanny ability to convert and 1 plays.

*Undrafted pick-up: Ben Hansborough
povides a shooter from 3 and FT's are almost automatic. Comes from competitive stock as well.

FA: DeAndre Jordan

I would make a play for the Clipper. He's high energy and can rebound offensive plus finish under there. He's all upside, and will make a great compliment to Bargnani's mid range game. Carl Landry may also be available.

I think the number 1 player in the draft should be Jared Sullinger of Ohio State. Harrison Barnes is great and he would have gone number 1 if the nba did not enforce the one year college rule, however, there were times he struggled this past year.

I don't really know where the Heat go from here. The Orlando game was a soul crusher. The Spurs game was a lay down, simple as that and after effects from the Orlando game.

But today's loss. This team can't play together in crunch time. I think the only way for the Heat forward for the remainder of the season is for DWade to become Point Guard, LeBron Small Forward, Bibby and Miller as shooters and Dampier C. Put Bosh's ass on the bench.

Or, do nothing at all and just try to entertain the fans with spectacular drives to the basket because the current shit ain't working anymore. The Heat have been gameplanned correctly.

Beatdown in San Antonio right now!!! Dayum. It's good to have Barnes and Bynum healthy.

Miami needs to learn how to bounce back from a tough loss. And get a bench. And a real leader. No wonder they made a pitch for Fisher.

Love is about to break the record for longest double double streak I believe. Like a boss.

The Heat just cannot get past the Big 3. Nobody else on that squad takes more than 5 shots a night. How the hell can any team expect to win playing 3-on-5 on offense? Sure they can out talent the have nots, but when they play a complete team, they flounder. It's like they don't have anything put together for anyone else, and of course, it doesn't help when those other guys aren't converting... but they gotta get touches.

Take today for instance: Nobody else took over 5 shots.

Chalmers: 4-5 (and hit a clutch 3 late!)
J. Jones: 1-1
Ilgauskas: 1-5
Bibby: 0-1
M. Miller: 1-5
Dampier: 0-0
*E. House: DNP (coaches decision)

Supplementary players: 17 pts total. (Bulls: 31)

The Lakers will be in the Finals. Only injuries will prevent that. They basically whipped out their cocks on national tv and bent over the entire city of San Antone, metaphorically speaking, of course.

I think the Heat are letting the media/pressure get to them. LeBron keeps opening his piehole and tweeting dumb things. LeBron should take a page from ARod. When ARod went to the Yankees he didn't act like the big shot on the team. He deferred to Jeter even though he is a much better player than Jeter. He didn't cry and bitch to be made shortstop. He accepted that he was First Lieutenant on the team. LeBron needs to come out and say/AND ACT like he's First Lieutenant to DWade. That would solve the Leadership vacuum that currently exists....

I . Put Bosh's ass on the bench. .

I didn't even know who Bosh was before this year. Obviously I'm only a casual (dare I say Wolves?) fan but seriously he maybe only popped up on my radar a couple times (ESPN).

It ain't gonna happen. He has the biggest ego in the world. Thus why I root against that prick.

The Heat need to figure out a way to win close games. They have to realize their team is not a dream team and that they are not going to blow teams out every night. I think they need to practice plays for the last 10 seconds and use it the next couple of games becuase they will be playing against some of the better teams in the nba.

Exactly!

We can talk about how this "big 3" is so inefficient, but.... the bottom line is they can't win close games. If the Heat figured out how to win close games, their record against elite teams would be pretty good.

I think this problem can be fixed. How? :dunno: Maybe give D-Wade the ball in the closing seconds? We haven't really tried that yet. Or maybe run some set plays, rather than have Lebron do his own thing.

Or maybe a coaching change. I would be in favor of that.

Its real simple: You're gonna have to get the other guys involved. Games are gonna be close when everybody else can't get more than 5 shots per game. Again, Chalmers was 4-5, Jones 1-1... when you lose one and two point games, that is where it's made up. This is a Heat win easily if they get more shots. There is no sense in the 3 pt. champ getting only one attempt. The game is won by total team effort.

All other players outside the big 3, only 17 total points. Stop wondering where the problem lies.

Franchise player, main offensive threat. LOL!!! We are rebuilding. Eventually we'll draft/sign good offensive guards and wing players that Bargnani's scoring will be rendered useless and unnecessary. We don't need a jump shooting big at all. The most important thing for a big man is to defend, and since he can't do that, he has to go. This false hope of bringing in a defensive center to compensate for Bargnani's lack of defense and rebound has got to stop. It's not going to improve the team all that much. Why roll with a Marc Gasol/Bargnani frontcourt when a combination of Marc Gasol and Amir or Davis is much more formidable? I'll take a strong 15pts and 10rebs defensive big over a 20pts and 5rebs pathetic big every day, all day, every time.

I agree with this statement. Bargnani isn't a franchise player. But it looks like they're trying to build team Europe so he'll probably stay. Derozan will bolt when he gets the chance. Maybe Corey Joseph and Tristan Thompson will want to play at home in Canada once they're in the big leagues. Probably not though.

Yeah, how has that team Europe bullshit been working??? Anyway, they really are fixable. The plan I outlined previously will get them in the right direction. A somewhat legit low-post threat should be the main focus in FA, and a versitile scorer in the draft.

Toronto is going to have to overpay for anybody they get. Amir Johnson is the perfect example. 5 years at $6 million per season? You can't rebuild with huge contracts. Until a franchise tag is implemented, no small market team will ever be consistently competitive. Not to mention there isn't enough quality GMs in the NBA and too many shit players...but that's neither here nor there.

I just read that several Heat players cried after the loss to Chicago.

SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is nothing more to be said about the Miami Heat.

/thebookontheseason

Bulls finishing second. Boston is not letting anybody upseat them, not as long as they're healthy. Miami, if it comes down to a two/three game difference Miami might try to finish much stronger and seed second, but the the key is the Bulls are beating the elite teams and winning on the road. They may run out of gas closer to the end, but they're not due for a let down on a night to night basis like Miami has.

I'm gonna go out there and say it, D-Wade's probably out of there if this season doesn't end strongly for them.
