Mortal Kombat: Rebirth Will Be a Web Series

"Remember that trailer for Mortal Kombat: Rebirth that popped up on YouTube back in June? It was reported that it was just a pitch to Warner Bros. to get a film made, but it was never really confirmed one way or another. According to a report by website Bloody Disgusting, it looks like something will come of it after all: a 10-part web series.



The news states that filming is expected to begin in Vancouver this February, with Michael Jai White reportedly reprising his role from the trailer as Major Jackson "Jax" Briggs. The report goes on to say that other characters to appear in the web series will be Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung, Liu Kang, Sub Zero, Durak (Goro's brother, apparently), Kabal, Kitana, Mileena and Scorpion. No release date is known.

Awesome news! I was hoping something was gonna happen with this. Especially since the new Mortal Kombat reboot game is coming soon.

there is already a thread on this mortal kombat game would of been better posted in there, how about try to search before posting in the future. but other than that good info. like the idea of a series of short film on the differant people !!

Mortal Kombat: Rebirth will debut next week on April 12.

"With under two weeks left until the official launch of the new Mortal Kombat, the game's companion live-action web series has been given a premiere date: April 12. According to Hadoken.net, the first episode will be available via Machinima at 4PM PST, following a live stream event. Select actors from the series and show director Kevin Tancharoen will play Mortal Kombat during the stream, and then introduce the episode.

We're waiting to hear back from Warner Bros. about the scheduling of the next eight episodes, but we imagine you'll see more around the game's April 19 launch day. For now, we've got the image of two ladies from the film fighting just above. It's the least we could do."

After episode 2, we can clearly see the origin of Kano and Jaxx (MK3 version) taking shape! Can't wait to see if Tahmoh Penikett will actually get to wear the typical Striker blue t-shirt and start throwing grenades!! lol

Awesome series so far, read that the next episode is about Cage. Fucking pussies cried to youtube and got the second episode censored, bullshit.
