Any speculation on the possible fight between current UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar versus undefeated former Pride heavyweight champion Fedor. Negotiations broke down because M1-Global wants a piece of UFC. UFC rebuilt itself successfully without any help from anybody.
from what i heard (dana white on the opie & anthony show a few weeks ago during the UFC100 weekend) talks broke down and Dana has had enough, he offered Fedor ALOT but they want all these "other" things which dana was glad to say yes to on some of them.
i remember M-1 advertising on the mat and on clothes and Dana was ok with that.
i think when it started to get to the point of splitting the $$ 50/50 for all ppv's with Fedor on it he just said NO.
there might be other stuff but it's just not fresh in my mind now.
Fedor owns a part of M-1 and them splitting the PPV $$ 50/50 Dana said was crazy cause M-1 is already getting advertising and such and now he "fedor" wants more on top of that. Dana said they tried REAL hard to get this thing done but in the end Fedor's "advisors" want too much as always and Dana said no deal.
dana wouldn't say it could never happen but he pretty much sounded like it was over,so if you want to see him fight pushovers go ahead cause he's not fighting top guys in the world not being in the UFC.
Thanks for the info...I did not know that Fedor owns a part of M1-Global. According to Yahoo Sports, the negotiation failure lies entirely on Fedor as the reporter claims that Fedor sat back and did nothing to push his promoter to make the fight happen. Dana was right in not giving in to M1's demands. Dana and his friends helped UFC out of oblivion into a premier powerhouse. As long as Affliction, Strikeforce, Elite XC, and others failing...Fedor and M1 has no choice but to renegotiate...Tito was with Affliction before and now back again with the UFC. Just a matter of time...
you post some stuff to help me remember,
Dana (cocky as he always is) said that it's "ok" cause M-1 will follow all the rest and be gone in due time and Fedor will have nowhere to go but UFC and then HE (dana) has/holds all the cards. (or whatever pun would be good for that setup)
Fedor, at no surprise, did great against Brett. Shane and Brock are pushed back to Febuary by the way.
Swick has paid his dues for a while so I hope he wins though I too doubt his chances against GSP. Vera should have a good chance on stand up. Also, I hope Forrest gives Tito a welcome back KO to avenge his loss.
