Fitch deserves the shot but he has only really fought cans.

Fitch has only fought like 2 guys with losing records. Hardly a can anywhere on his record. Alves and Sanchez are in the top 10 for Christsake. Didn't look great in his last fight though, barely won, and Chris Wilson is no GSP.

Fighting for what will likely be his final time in the UFC, thanks to a heated rivalry with UFC president Dana White, Ortiz was adorned in a T-shirt that read, "Dana is my bitch." (White didn't attend the weigh-ins.)

now i want him to lose, have we noticed that he always does this stuff to Dana White when he's not around?he never showed up to the weight in when HE challenged white to the 3 round fight.
what a FUCKBOY

I can't wait until Tito creates a book and movie, possibly entitled "Farenheit MMA"

How do you feel about the future announcement of Brock vs. Heath Herring??!?!

On another note Im pissed about Kimbo Slice being on the cover of ESPN mag.

I think Heath has enough experience to school Lesnar a bit, as long as he doesn't get overwhelmed by Lesnar's size.

Well Heath is a huge match for him. Heath has fought and contended with the best. Don't you think its kind of dumb to have thrown Brock into the wolves this early with 2 big name fighters? He needs to bring him along kinda slow cus Brock can be a huge cash cow for him. 2 loses in a row starting out in the UFC isn't good at all.

i agree but what are you going to do keep putting him up against guys where he pretty much "will" win.
ELITE is doing that with Kimbo just putting hacks in front of him to mow through. it's not a real challenge.

i wouldn't mind Brock facing mediocre opponents because he is not a fully true MMA in the sense.

I just hope it doesn't backfire cus I really did enjoy seeing Brock rain down the hammer fists before his impending doom. Well alot of us have failed to mention the war tonight between Wandy and The dean of mean. Im super stoked for this bout.

As for Brock, he definitely needs to fight some cans...and I mean that in a respectful way. The administration shouldn't have put him against Mir. He definitely needs to build up his MMA experience. That's what El Guapo is doing with Kimbo.

As for Wand/Jardine, I'm a HUGE Wand fan and definitely want him to win, but if he doesn't, I don't care because he's an entertaining fighter and he'll bring it hard with Jardine. Besides, I want to see Wand go to 185 and fight Hendo once again :D

I'm proud of my boy Wand! The Axe Murderer is back!!! I was screaming my head off for the whole minute after Jardine was out cold!
Machida also impressed me of his defense at least...pretty elusive like they said.
Nakamura got owned and so did Gouveia...I actually did pretty good with my predictions today :)

Vintage Wanderlei! Jardine was on queer street for a long time. Awesome to see him blast someone out like that again, that was a long time coming. Machida looked fucking great too. He's even better than Anderson Silva at simply not getting hit. The third round was pretty exciting, but Tito really did nothing other than the submission attempt. I thought Sokoudjou looked extremely ordinary. Nakamura has a knack for making people look bad though. If anyone knows someone at 155 who's gonna beat BJ, I'd like to know. He's looked better than ever going back to the Jens fight last year. Lots of good fights tonight. Can't wait to see the undercard.

I was really impressed with UFC 84!

After watching over 20 UFCs back-to-back within the past few years, I have not got a satisfaction as I did last night watching UFC 84. This has to be my favorite card.
There were no controversial stops. Almost all fights went until some awesome ass-beatings.

Among the impressive KOs:
Shane Carwin (still undefeated)
Thiago Silva (still undefeated)
Goran Reljic (still undefeated)
Rameau Sojoukou (he's back!)
Wanderlei Silva (the Axe Murderer's back...he demolished the current top 3 LHW in half a minute!)
BJ Penn (wow...he controlled that whole fight!)
Yoshiyuki Yoshida (how ruthless!)

Even though I wasn't too impressed with some of Lyoto Machida's last fights, the way he was able to prevent from getting damaged by Tito Ortiz' aggressivness was amazing. He fought very elusively, like the announcers were saying, and he frustrated the hell out of Tito. Tito just couldn't really land anything 'cos the Dragon was so slippery and moved too fast. I know some people might consider him like Kalib Starnes but he looked to me to be actually fighting along with his defense. And to see the referee trip over himself during that third round was freakin' hilarious! I was also amazed that Tito was given the mic at the finish and he stayed mature. He showed much more wisdom in his exit and I hope he finds some good luck with MMA in the future.

The Jiu-jitsu done by Rousimar Palhares was all textbook. It was beautifully done and I don't think a punch was laid out anywhere in that fight!

The last 2 with Rich Clementi and Dong Hyun Kim winning I still didn't see, but I was overall impressed with the other nine.

i haven't missed a UFC PPV since Silvia-Arlovski 2 so like 2 1/2 years?
i agree with scubamike- Axe murderer looked impressive, machida looked very good in he elusiveness.i like how tito was getting mad that machida looked like he was running the whole match, but the object is to hit....and not GET hit and he did exactly that.
i have said it for a while now but i don't think anyone will be able to beat...bj Penn or anderson silva or GSP....if they are fully FOCUSED.!
i think BJ moving up in weight would be a dumb move but who is really a challenger in his weight class? i honestly think GSP would have no problem with him, but that is my opinion.

Scubamike i don't think Machida was anything like Starnes, he just ran the whole fight.Machida blocked several takedown attempts, when he got into the clinch he wiggled and wormed himself out of trouble and out of that clinch, the almost armbar/triangle that tito had on him had me a little nervous for just a few seconds.
overall a decent show not a great show but definitely not a disappointment.

finally the cheers/chants "TITO TITO TITO" got really quiet as the fight got closer to the end. Tito wasn't an asshole like i thought he would be in the post fight interview.

Anyone who thinks Lyoto is like Starnes doesn't know mma from a hole in the ground. Machida is a tactician, Starnes is just a pussy.

squallumz

knows petras secret: she farted.
awesome job to machida, tito looked frustrated and had no idea what to do with him. i was really impressed that machida stuck with karate principles and evaded then struck. smart guy.

wanderlei also put a big smile on my face. finally put jardine in his place. he deserves that win. way to go.

I was overall impressed with Machida. I did not think he was like a "Starnes" but alot of people at another blog I write on were bitching about it tho. Screw them and their hatred. I gained respect for Machida and I definitely freaked for a second also when Tito put that triangle on him. It was amazing but Machida had the skills to break out of it really quick. His defense is awesome. I don't think I'll like to see him fight Chuck Liddell though because they both have the same defensive fighting style and it would be more of a staring contest hahaha!

A request I have is for BJ to rematch with GSP. I think that is necessary before GSP should attempt to fight A. Silva.

I think I'm losing my voice a bit from all the screaming I did at the bar when Wanderlei won also :)

SCubaMike i know you weren't saying he was like Starnes. i knew you meant it would be perceived like he was running. it just didn't translate into words correctly in my post.

everyone at a UFC show or watching on TV always wants action, action, action
look at how quick the fans always BOOO when nothing is happening for like 2 minutes! sometimes you like to see a technical match not just 2 guys throwing haymakers until they are gassed then spend the final 2 1/2 rounds laying on the mat trying something/anything.i hate those people
there wasn't much action in the Machido/Tito match well at the beginning because some guys have a strategy and stick to it no matter what happens through-out the match. machido did exactly that. be defensive, pick your spots.
some people piss ME off when they just complain there isn't a knockout every 1st round of every fight.

I definitely agree with you! Unfortunately, today's people only like brawling and violence and accept that. When UFC started in 1993, it was about the discipline. It is now becoming mainstream and I'm dreading it to become another WWE. The drama-queen Tito is out of the UFC now but who knows, others still do it (Penn/Sherk for instance). I myself respect the discipline. I don't want to watch people go to the hospital. I might be kinda contradictive though 'cos my favorite fighter is Wanderlei Silva hehe.
