Mixed Martial Arts

Well, UFC 83 was pretty damn piss poor! It started out all right, with the Danzig fight, but that other dude was really lacking in experience and skill, had heart though.

Mark Bocek fought great. That was a very high level of grappling displayed by both guys. World class, actually. It's not like Danzig had an easy time with Bocek or anything.

The view from my seats for UFC 83. The Bell Centre was crazy. I think I've got some much better ones from UFC 82, but they're on one of those old school things that actually uses film and I haven't got them developed yet.

I'd lllooooove to see Kimbo get laid out by Butterbean or Iron Mike....but Kimbo isn't gonna want to fight those guys standing.

A lot of people think he's got his hands full with James Thompson first. Say what you want about his chin, but Thompson is gonna have a nice size and experience advantage. In this sport that can count for a lot. He's had wars with Don Frye and Fujita and a beat down of Yoshida. Very legit fighters.

If Thompson gets Kimbo down, he's in trouble. If Gary Shaw slips Thompson a fat wad of cash and tells him to keep it standing, things might go a little better for Kimbo.

We'll see if Bas Rutten can train his boy. I respect Bas and think it would be awesome if he can turn a brawler thug into an MMA professional.

Kimbo Slice can kiss my ass. I'm tired of his hype even after him fighting for many years. Lets see him fight somebody thats actually conditioned.
Right on. Kimbo Slice vs. Mike Tyson, for me, would be the biggest 'who gives a fuck?' fight ever. It would be worse than the praying mantis fight in 'Enter the Dragon'.

So what do you guys think about Tito and Machida?
Machida sounds like a really focused fighter in his interview and it figures that he is undefeated.
However, Tito has nothing to lose, hates Dana, and wants to fuck the UFC since this is his last fight. Will he succeed? If so, what will his winning T-shirt say?

Machida all day long. I don't think Tito is the fighter he used to be. The only time he's looked good in recent memory was against Ken Shamrock and that doesn't say a whole lot.

Machida on the other hand, just beat the most hyped fighter of last year and he made him look silly doing it. Actually he's made everyone he's fought in the UFC look like they didn't belong in the cage with him. And he's the only guy this side of Anderson Silva to finish Franklin.

True about Machida...he's impecable...but anything can happen in MMA...and if Tito wins, he'll definitely raise hell towards Dana before they carry him out of the octagon.

Who knows what kind of shit Tito might try to pull. They'd likely cut away if he hijacked the mic. But I wouldn't be totally surprised if he acted like a man as he did after beating Shamrock for the ninth time.

Tito might be wearing a shirt of Affliction to be a slap in the face for Dana.

Looks like Coleman vs Lesnar is off for UFC 87. I was kind of interested in seeing that one actually. Coleman doesn't lose to just anybody (not this decade anyway) and I think he'd be another test for Lesnar.

Good news is that GSP will be fighting Jon Fitch at that show. I don't think Fitch has anything for Georges, but we'll see.

i'm rooting for machido. i like tito always did but he hasn't fought since???
the shamrock fight? and UFC was stringing him along and along because he only has 1 fight left on his contract. obviously this one.
i don't mind who wins but in my heart i want to see tito the "asshole" go out a loser. he challenged Dana White to a 3 round fight then backed out of it after dana trained for months really WANTING to kick tito's ass!
Andrei Arlovski is a free agent but i think the UFC is trying to get him to stay.
he hasn't fought in ??? also! (well in the UFC that is?!)

Arlovski: http://mmajunkie.com/news/4340/white-on-arlovski-we-want-to-sign-him.mma

BUT...he may sign with affliction:

When I heard about this on Sherdog I was excited. Fitch deserves the shot but he has only really fought cans. I don't see him having much of a chance against GSP at all but like i said he deserves the shot at least. 87 is looking to be a really good card. Plus we cant forget The Ken-Flo vs. Huerta fight on the card.

On another subject about Tito vs. Lyoto. Tito is coming in very prepared and in his words "the best shape of his life". Though that may be a stretch I do believe it. There is nothing more he would want then to piss off Dana and his prized Lyoto. I don't like Tito but just sayin...also I get to meet him at his book signing in Cincy.

The fight this Saturday that I want to see but its not being shown unless they decide to air it is the Rich Clementi fight. He is a beast. Also watch out for Carwin. He is a GNP monster. Of course he is one of the undercards.

Personally I cannot stand GSP so I'm rooting for Fitch...but the best man will definitely win.

Lesnar should fight Kimbo...war of the amateurs!

I want Tito to win just so he can slap Dana in the face, but otherwise I see Machida as a really tough challenge. I saw a pretty good video of Tito on www.sherdog.com and he highlighted his problems with Dana within the past few years. I know that some of those reasons should be his fault though 'cos he's really egotistical.

Houston Alexander is scheduled to fight Eric Schafer. I know Alexander has been losing lately (even though one of those losses is pretty controversial) but can Eric Schafer actually survive?
