Looks like Obama's health care is going to pass.

A GOP majority can refuse to fund it. If it couldn't be overturned then Harry Reid wouldn't have felt the need to include a clause in the senate bill that says that it cannot be. Which is unconstitutional BTW and will be challenged in the courts.

Yes, I would say it was "crammed."

http://politics.newsvine.com/_quest...e-overhaul-are-you-excited-or-angry?GT1=43001

These are results from a poll from MSNBC (liberal biased media mind you) and the statistics don't lie. 22% of Americans are excited about the new health care while 54% are angry. I would consider it "crammed" when the majority of the population are against it.

I have never really felt a need to vote until now.
Let's see, I could have voted for Bush.......meh.
How about Gore?.......meh.
Maybe McCain?........meh.
But one thing I'm certain of, Obama and his pals have to go. Our economy is already screwed up enough and this health care is a joke.

Psst...that's an online poll dude at politics.newsvine.blah, blah, blah. That thing probably has more duped votes than Miss FOs. And if Obama is in any trouble, it's not because he's followed some Lib agenda (thankfully)...quite to the contrary. He's in trouble with the gays who want Obama to stop them from getting kicked out of the military, anti-war types who want him to drop trou..and leave Afghanistan now that we've turned the tide there, the immigration reformers who want amnesty, people who don't understand that the economic lag drifted well into last year and it just starting to turn and people like me who don't like him appearing to cave on GiTMO and trying terrorists where they belong and where they've have been tried successfully in the past.

GOPers hate Obama? They're now outraged? They're mobilized?:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh As if they were more outraged, mobilized or filled with hatred when the O man got elected...

A GOP majority can refuse to fund it. If it couldn't be overturned then Harry Reid wouldn't have felt the need to include a clause in the senate bill that says that it cannot be. Which is unconstitutional BTW and will be challenged in the courts.

"It's the economy stupid":2 cents: Didn't you see what happened to G.H.W Bush???? When the economy turns around this will be a blip...it's easy to rile up the wheat grass when things don't look good.

No one gave a shit how bad GWB was fucking the country up, losing the wars and running up the debt until their asses started filing for unemployment.

Well expect to see a lot of folks in office kicked out in November now. As well as Obama getting canned come 2012.

Well expect to see a lot of folks in office kicked out in November now. As well as Obama getting canned come 2012.

Hopefully this is a sign that Obama is through bullshitting and trying to coddle GOPers who's ONLY objective is to play partisan politics.

I hope this is a welcomed sign of his willingness to finally push the obstructionists aside and get shit done.

It is pretty hilarious to watch the "outrage" though of the beat it to fit, paint it to match GOPers on this...health care reform for America.:1orglaugh

Contrasted with the expend American lives and money (100 years if need be) to save Iraqis from themselves perspective they trotted out under GWB.

There is no position these goobers can't beat to fit and paint to match when it serves their seasonal politics.:nanner:

At least one can say Demos pretty much stood their ground on the principles they believed in, fought with the WH and didn't simply rubber stamp this for Obama no matter what is said.

Universal healthcare=socialism+communism+facism+forced euthanesia=not good. That's basically the way most Americans think. America is the only civilised western country where people die because they can't afford healthcare and all some of you do is bitch and moan. It shows the true American way, me, me, me and fuck the rest. No wonder America is in such a sorry state.

Our health care is the best in the world because we have most of the best doctors and facilities.

Obama is president now. I thought all you Euro-peons loved him so much that not only would his presence cure our "sorry state" but he would cure the world's ills too.

I mean for crissakes! All he had to do was take office and win a Nobel Peace Prize.

Didn't you get married a couple of days ago?

Why aren't you enjoying newlywed bliss and not posting here?

The US has the best doctors, technology, emergency care and facilities. That has not translated into the to best system though.

System wise the WHO ranks the US in the 30s I believe.

I will say the so called "outrage" is really quite laughable because some of these clowns obviously have no clue what the facts are.

We spend more as a percent of our GDP than any other relevant country, our doctors are paid more...yet among relevant comparisons we rank at the bottom in health care statistics.

There should be "outrage" that our statistics aren't better.

For you to understand the way some in the US think with respect to politics, you'd have to start with the Civil War and reconstruction. Much of the opposition to policies which would seem common sense to outsiders begins there.:2 cents:

But as far as US health care goes, it's like Bill Maher said, allot of these so called protesters believe American health care is like what you see on "House" or "ER". Where there are 5 or 6 doctors standing around treating only you, they take off, fuck each other then lay in the bed afterwards talking about you, then come in the next day a miraculously save you.:1orglaugh

Read what I said, (health care) not our system. Our "health care" (facilities, treatments, technology, Docs, etc.) is the best. How it works to the benefit of our people isn't.

Turns out that's not quite correct, either. Sorry. Read the articles posted above.

The US doesn't have the best docs, emergency care, technology, treatment and facilities? Show me where you have something that says that....

The main thing I take from studies and believe is that while we have all that, our system isn't the most efficient nor does it yield results consistent with those facts.

So, America was the only industrialized nation not to have socialized medicine, but what's the state of the economy for all other industrialized nations that do provide it? Their economies are not doing that well from last I heard. Look at Greece (which is a snapshot of where we are heading) and Spain, then again, the UK, Canada, how is their economy? Most third world nations do offer it. Mexico, my native country, is one example. How is it's economy? NOBODY is against some kind of reform, but it's got to be done responsibly. Would I favor some sort of government provided healthcare? If there is the money to pay for it without raising taxes, yes, and the way to do it is to get the economy really working. Our economy is not doing well and with a redistributionist in the oval office is not going to do well in the foreseable future. We need someone who understands how the free market works and not someone who knows how it works but only to try to destroy it. When we are told to "get used to" above 10% unemployment, that does not give me a good vibe.

Get the economy going first then when the money is really coming into the government coffers, then some kind of program can be started. Start with something small, with emergency care paid for by the government for accidents or sudden illnesses for people without insurance. And by emergency care I'm talking about accidents, heart attacks, strokes, appendectomies, things that are life threatening, not just a little sore throat that can be treated by a family doctor for the exhorbitant price of $80.

Anyway, now I got to start making some arrangements. I WILL NOT be forced or bullied into buying health insurance and I WILL NOT pay any fine whatsoever, even if it's only $1. What do you think will happen to someone who does what I plan, well, not to do? I am ready to become America's first political prisoner but I really hope that will not be necesary.

Well, as the W.H.O.'s evaluation included an evaluation of all of the elements you mentioned, and the U.S. didn't achieve top marks in any of them, I believe I already have shown you something that says that. Read a little deeper.

Could you show me anything that explicitly states that an international organisation evaluated top health care systems in the world and say that the U.S. has the best docs, emergency care, technology, treatment and facilities?

Further, if they are the best, why do friends of mine have to go out of the country for treatments being done in other countries by doctors trained there? The docs here don't necessarily have the finest training, and saying they do seem to me (my opinion) quite a short sighted thing to say. Do you believe, for example, that American doctors are the best when it comes to treating stomach parasites found in India? No. That would be ridiculous. If someone in the United States comes down with a seemingly impossible to cure stomach parasite, the good doctors here would not hesitate to call on their Indian counterparts for help. Why? because the Indian doctors are better? No. They simply have more experience in the area.

American doctors are excellent. There is an excellent medical education system here. Saying they are clearly the best doctors in the world is ridiculous.

But that's my $0.02, and I'm soon to leave this thread, as I don't believe there are discussions happening here. Just opinions.

I've enjoyed newlywed bliss so much I'm a little sore now :love-smi:  And believe it or not but life is the same once you're married. The dishes still have to be done, clothes have to be washed and dinner has to be made.

Really? Say you're lying. Doesn't life turn into a magical, mystical place full of sex and lazy afternoons in bed?

It does in America. Clearly American marriages are the best in the world.

They wouldn't make you a prisoner. They'd just garnish your wages or visit your bank.

Only stands to reasoning that the World's best hospitals would consistently have the best Docs, technology, facilities, etc.
:2 cents:

Again, if you read your own links they relate to statistical results, not quality ranking.

I read my own links. Thoroughly. I suggest you do the same and stop implying that I don't. I find my links more convincing. Go look at funding sources for your links.
