FreeOnes Board Voting Bloc

750 would limit us to just 17 entrants.
500 to 31 entrants.
200 to 48 entrants.

as it stands.

It may be better to look at the post per day figures to see who contributes regularly.

i agree post per day are more telling. just because a girl hasnt been here long doesnt mean she hasnt participated. if a girl has been here for only 6 months but she posts every day shell probably only have about 200 posts. but a girl whos been a member for several years but doesnt post much could amounth 300 posts quite easily.

A better way to judge who should be able to run for Best OCSM is how may posts per day that she has. :dunno:

Another way would be limiting who can vote for Best OCSM to members who have reached a certain amount of posts on the board. A user with 500 posts will know more about the board and would be less likely to simply vote for their favourite girl because fuck it than some user that followed a link off of Twitter and created an account just to vote.

I don't mind the posts per day... but what is the problem with 17 entrants for these particular categories??? This is the Heisman of Freeones, why should there be hundreds of people that qualify. Narrow these down to the absolute most qualified. My thing is that anybody could take a month out of they're time to hustle up 20 'thank you' posts a day. This should go to the woman who best reps this site, not part timers. Nobody has yet come up with proposed qualifiers...

How bout' a little of both: minimum post count and post per day limits.

my understanding this is a contest for girl of this year. i think total posts might not be the best way to figure out which girls been the most active. is there a way to find out yearly activity? how much the girls have been posting this year?

Even as few as 200 posts, and a user would have the gist of the board and its members/OCSMs.

It would be possible for a programmer to write a report for that, as the posts are there, and it is possible to search and count manually. Whether FO's would do that is another thing altogether.

I've spent a few days thinking on this, and here's what I've come up with:

First, we need to determine who has been present, posting and interacting on the board before and during the contest. Since larss has already mostly done this with his posting chart/table, it should be fairly easy to determine.

We have a choice between a maximum of 5 contestants. We could have either the 3 highest ranking (in the contest, about midway through Round 2) and 2 possible write-ins.... or the 2 highest ranking, the contestant who has done the most posting and interaction during the contest (if she isn't one of the 2 or 3 highest ranking), and 2 write-ins.

The write-ins must be included in order to allow board members to have their fair say and a change to explain why they think a certain contestant who isn't in the top 3 of our list is worth backing. After a couple of days for board members to post their thoughts and suggestions, the write-in votes are counted. Next, we have an overall vote for all board members to decide whom among the 5 contestants will receive our full backing.

I think that, for the final vote as well as the time for suggestions, neither should be over 2 days in length, due to the fact that we are playing against time and, the longer the process, the greater the chance of any sort of tampering or rigging, such as multiple profiles per person, appeals via twitter, etc.

This process seems to combine the best aspects of a democratic vote, previous performance, as well as a mathematical favourite in order to provide us with a viable candidate that we can all support for Miss FreeOnes.

Any comments, input, blind faith in me? :dunno: hehe

I would fight you for that one
I have over 4,000 posts, post almost every couple of days and have been around 4 years..... I deserve to win that as much as anyone IMHO.... and like to think the first position I currently enjoy reflects that participation and interaction.

Just sayin' ....

Love it. Great attitude.....one of the reasons I have been voting for you.......
WE are the ones who post here. WE are the ones who spend our time here. WE are the ones who interact here. WE are the various pieces that make this board work.

Yet, for the Miss FreeOnes contest, WE are getting pushed aside and outvoted by outsiders from other sites who only support a person and could care less about OUR board and OUR participation. This board is a FreeOnes board for FreeOnes members, and Miss FreeOnes is and should be OUR contest. Understandably, we don't always get along, vote the same, or have the same tastes, but I am certain that we would all rather have a winner that cares about their fans, posting here, and interaction than someone who doesn't. I propose that, if necessary in the Final Round, we all stand and vote together to ensure that, in every category, one of OUR contestants wins.

Fuck, dude, I couldn't agree more.....Jane B dropping out, Olson and Lisa Ann suddenly, mysteriously, rocketing up the rankings when neither one of them even fucking PRETENDS to be a part of the boards....it's fucking bullshit....this contest is total shit......I like your idea. I'm in.

You guys need help. Call the CIA, FBI and Scotland Yard. :1orglaugh

so, what, we make a list of girls and vote on it?

I think there's 2 ways:

1. We take the top 3 contestants who are regular posters here, allow a maximum of 2 days for possible write-in votes (max of 2 per voter). That gives up 5 contestants, which is a good number, not being so big that it's unweildy and not so small that there's little choice. Next, we put those 5 up to a board member only vote, lasting a maximum of 2 days.

2. We take the top 2 contestants who are regular posters here, add in the contestant who has done the most posting/interaction during the contest (if she's outside of the top 2 or 3 vote-worthy contestants, according to larss' list) allow a maximum of 2 days for possible write-in votes (max of 2 per voter). Again, this gives us 5 contestants. Same as the last suggestion, we then take a 2 days vote.

This entire process could be easily done in 5-6 days, and we could have our FreeOnes Board Voting Bloc contestant by the beginning of Round 3.

It's sad, there is two people in the top 25, maybe three, that actually deserve to win the Miss FreeOnes category, and only one of them has a realistic shot at it. Most of the other categories are as bad or worse with only Best Adult Model having any semblance of reasonableness to it.

It's getting to the point I hope they just totally scrap the competition completely after this and never have it again. I'm sad to say that, but I think at this point it's the best option.

Not only will we not have the farce we have now, but there won't be any more disruption to the board and constant vote begging by the OCSMs that shamelessly show up here to do it. Having them show up more probably seemed like a good idea at the very beginning, but they are becoming a detriment to the board and are, quite frankly, a big part of the problem with the contest as a whole. There won’t be any more disgruntled feeling from the OCSM or members of the board because of it either.

Even if they somehow make it dramatically better and go out of their way to fix the problems next year, (And to bring any kind of legitimacy to it they need to dramatically do things to fix at least almost all the problems with it.) which using the changes they made this year and how much they actually listened to us last year about the problems as an indication that is very very slim, they pretty much need to asterisk the first two years somewhere and just say they shouldn't be taken seriously at all, was more a marketing ploy than anything, the contests where very deeply flawed, and they don't count.

Post of the Year material right here. I'd rep it twice if I could.

The means test for success of this contest probably is, and should always be whether the competition increases the traffic and exposure of FO, the girls...whether it by and large exposes them to more fans and for the fan whether it by and large exposes them to more models.

If it does those things....it will and should continue.

It's not designed to make everyone :) nor could it ever.

There are far more people finding it worthwhile it seems than the few who don't. Why would FOs even remotely consider canceling it based on that?

I suspect they'll make reasonable changes to iron out the wrinkles next time and there will be the some girls complaining and some voters complaining anyway.:dunno:

Will some girls choose not to compete next time from the outset? Maybe...but that's not going to stop someone even less deserving (if you want to call it that) from still walking away with the $$$....

I mean, it's only the second round....
