There have always been trolls and arguments on here,but it seems now there is just more animosity and hatred now. It isn't much fun any more. I rarely post because there is little discussion of ideas and thoughts, just a series of attacks.

We all love to complain and yes, there is something to be said about how trolls and bad attitude should be handled with. But lets not forget who creates the posts and threads: us (including me). If you want to talk about something interesting or have a debate: create a thread yourself. Don't wait for someone else to create something interesting and then point fingers when it doesn' happen.

I'm not necessarily bitching. I have data and fact that back up people leaving. I agree that if there is a current bitch that there aren't enough interesting threads, people should create them - members and OCSMs alike. However, as has been said, once a board gets a reputation for repeated offenses and just being a magnet for Dino's shit and boogers, people tend to leave, while others tend to stick around and continue to click on Dino's shit and boogers. Yes, it is a porn forum. However, as Harley said, there is a lack of connection outside of most model's own threads anymore. These are just a few common facts and the lack of new OCSMs and Content members signing up proves my point a bit. I bring it up because FreeOnes advertise OCSMs on its front page like there are a bunch of them here. Yes, at one time they are here but now they are retired, lurk, or only post in one thread with just wank material and self-masturbating their own ego. It's a bit of false advertisement.

As a solution, I think that the Mods and Owners should deactivate OCSM accounts of people like Erica Campbell and Crissy Moran who have been out of the adult industry for over 10+ years with no intention of ever returning. To still claim that those people interact here is entirely false and misleading. To build on that, I think it's why the conversations and lack of community continues to happen around here. There's absolutely no reason to come here anymore other than to see who is the Asshat of the Year, etc. I do have a sense of humor and get the joke, but still - come on, boogers and farts and shit jokes are meant for people who are below the age of consent or for people who need to play tag in freeway traffic with each other. Honestly, I don't think the impact would hurt them. Anyway, get off my porn lawn. #troll #angry #frustrated #bored #ohlookpeoplestilltalkaboutshitthatmatters

In my experience, internet forums wax and wane. Always have, always will. Sometimes they make a comeback, often they don't. But with the arsenal of porn backing it up I think this one has a pretty good chance.

I think media like twitter and instagram are definitely going to cost OCSMs, it's way easier to take a pic and post a short caption from your phone than to log into a buggy slow server and type out a post that's going to receive replies and challenges and may need to be expanded or defended. Who needs all that bullshit when you've got boning to do?

I'm not saying you are bitching, my post is ment for everyone and no one in particular. And your concerns are well-founded and correct. When the rules became less strict some years ago I think it created some sort of "anything goes" mentality around the board. People don't think twice anymore before posting, hence the harsh words, insults, baiting, bitching, trolling and or general stupidity. You can't create a sence of community in such an environment. People will leave, and potential new members stay away. The FreeOnes Team need to rethink their policy of "bad advertising is advertising none the less". That''s their job. Creating a community where everyone is welcome however, that's our job.

While OCSM posts and # of posts overall has dropped in the general discussion section. Is this also reflected in the # of visitors this site gets? Or is it just the ratio of lurkers to posters becoming more lopsided?

I try to post interesting topics, but most people come here just for the porn.

The mods should have weekly polls asking us what new stuff or changes to the site we want, with a bunch of options to choose from.

For example:
- make time between searches 10 seconds instead of 20 seconds.
- Give us 30 or 60 minutes to edit a post instead of 10 minutes.
- or changes like instead of giving members rep, rep only individual posts, like youtube's "like" system.
- have stats of most and least liked post of the week, etc...

One change a week based on polls, would slowly make the board better, and make the experience here easier and maybe more enjoyable.

I don't know much about setting up or maintaining a forum/board, I can only give my opinion on what I like or dislike.

You absolutely do. And I applaud you for that effort. There are (or were) also several other posters who post interesting topics - though not as many as there used to be. Your topics, and those presented by these other people, would spark intelligent discussions, if that's what people were really after. But I've noticed that there are usually only one or two replies, at most, when you post something intelligent and intriguing. Same thing would happen to Ulysses and the other good posters we used to have here. So this is absolutely no different than when Sam Fisher (and certain other lowlifes) was here. Many complained about him and his stupid, low brow posts and views. But anything provocative or outrageous is what tends to get clicks and posts, while threads with substance get ignored. Hey, more people watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians than watch Masterpiece Classic too. So... :dunno:

I actually think that all discussion forums have experienced a downturn since Facebook and other social media platforms have taken off. I've noticed it on racing and car forums that I'm on, as well as financial forums. Other than LinkedIn, I don't use that type of social media, so I don't know or understand the attraction to FB, Twitter, etc. I don't think that this board is obsolete. It's just a different place than it was four or five years ago, because the internet landscape has changed. Though not always for the better, things change. No surprise there.
