Whoever wins it won't be everyones Miss Freeone. Hell it won't be most peoples Miss Freeones. You see contestants get knocked out that you would have voted for all the way through. So on the next round you vote for someone who wouldn't have been your Miss Freeones. So there is only one option to this. Just don't bother. As I won't be. I don't need them to have a title to be my own #1.

It's been a little over 2 years since this thread was last active, but I think it is time again to bring this thread back to the forefront. My initial post on this thread still stands and I still mean every word of it. From my other thread, Briana Lee stated, "Be ready for the more popular girls outside of Freeones to swoop in and take the majority of the category titles." Much like a number of long-time members here, I don't want to see that happen, so I believe that it is time for us to put our votes together and vote for the contestants that actually best represent us. Flying Wallaby -- Do you want to change something? Change the voting by the number of posts someone has. Not how long the person has been a member here. The more posts here -- the greater the weighted votes. I personally know a few longtime Freeones members who have members since 2004. However, they never post here on the board and thus they have a greater weight (5x) as opposed to me who has a weight of (3.5x).
As for stirring up controversy, I'm staying out of it. Personally I'm not voting this year in the contest. I've been there to the voting area once so far and I've only placed two votes for Briana Lee.

Isn't the same thing when FreeOnes, Approved Content Owners, or the OCSMs are in contests and ask for the members as what happens during the Miss Freeones Contest, FW? In a web contest, there are issues as you describe. Unless you make the contest close to members only, as the Best OCSM. But that defeats the reasons for the contest (more traffic, more exposure for those who post pics or videos, etc.).
I would LOVE to someone that I converse with on a daily basis win. But while for the ladies participating would want to win, in my outside FreeOnes life, I have no vested interest in who wins (unless the winner would like to share
).
This is why I find it odd when some members act like the world has come to an end when someone else wins. Disappointed sure, but certain things that had/have been said during the contest was/is a little over the top.

I am an infrequent poster but I've enjoyed reading your posts since you joined and for what it's worth, you're getting my votes for best newcomer.
Presumably the Miss Freeones contest draws a lot of additional traffic to this website but every year it seems to be a divisive event on the boards. I always feel so bad for the girls who are regular posters her but work independently or don't have the name recognition of the major stars of the adult entertainment world. Interacting with the OCSMs is one of the really great things about Freeones and when the debates about Miss Freeones heat up, I can't help but wonder if it doesn't discourage some of them. Jaana, what are your feelings about that? Are you enjoying Miss Freeones or not?

While I'm not ready to vote your ticket just yet, you do make a good point.
In my ideal future I would like to see posting statistics included with each Miss Freeones candidates picture - maybe you mouse hover over a picture and you see how many, if any posts a girl has made in the last year and in the last month. Additionally rather than displaying the candidates photos randomly they could be ordered by how active they are in the Freeones community, so that those candidates who don't use Freeones to interact with their fans would automatically be at the bottom of the page.
I know that votes are now weighted by the tenure of members. If it were up to me, I'd change it so that the Miss Freeones participants posting record was also weighted. To me, it doesn't really matter who has the most posts, only that the girls in the contest should regularly use the Freeones boards to communicate with fans. So something like:
Has not posted at least once in each of the last 12 months - votes x 1
Has posted at least once in each of the last 12 months - votes x 1.1
... up until

The OCMS category is created just for that, the conversations on the boards. There are also picture and video updates. Give-a-ways and promotional stuff that they provide to the site. Not every who joins is into the conversation but they enjoy getting these things.

I was enjoying it until others tried to get me involved in drama that i refuse to buy into. It's been a wonderful experience otherwise. I have met so many fans and I've been able to interact with them in a new way. it's wonderful to see the support people have for me. It's a great feeling. It does kind of bother me that a girl who barely does anything with her own Babe Section, or barely posts on the boards, can end up in the Top 10 or 15 for the main contest because I feel like at that point it's not the people of Freeones voting, but the people of Twitter/Facebook/etc. FO can't do much more about it, though. The system they have in place does work pretty well. All one can really hope for is that active and long-time FO posters and members notice which girls care, which girls ake the contest seriously, and which girls actually enjoy Freeones and plan to continue to add content and be a part of the boards, even when the contest is over. i'm one of those girls, which is why I think I deserve to win Best Newcomer.

Believe it or not Jaana, the drama is way down now compared to past years. That's not to say that we have seen all of it yet. Last year we had models calling out other models. Some even complained that certain models were posting too many pictures. Getting to round 2 separates the contenders from the pretenders. To make the finals is really where the work comes in. You have veterans and models with networks that help push them even in the newcomer category. The finals are where the big cats fight. Studios get involved. Many models have people posting for them. It's an open competition. Whome ever can sell it the best comes out on top regardless of how good it is.
Yes, I do believe that the system needs to be changed, though I must say that the way it is now is a marked improvement from the way it started out; however, I do realize that it is a constantly evolving process.
I don't think closing it (or at least altering the structure) defeats the reasons for the contest. Remember, FreeOnes isn't necessarily doing this in order for their to be more votes or even more voters, they are doing this as a way to promote participation on the boards which will promote usage of their website and products: this is why they attempt to get voters to sign up for an account and weight the voters based on posting and board participation.
I totally agree with that. It's really frustrating to see a contestant that is a constant presence here get buried by a contestant that relies solely on things like Twitter and website/agent promotion and doesn't even have a board account.
Bang on, bob! I think that too many people have the misconception that board members' votes should be content being relegated to OCSM. As I said before, the whole point of the contest (from FreeOnes perspective) is to increase board membership, so what does it say to the board membership when you have category winners who have virtually no presence on the boards and are laissez-faire regarding the entire contest outside of things like Twitter? It's insulting to the board members, insulting to the contestants who really make a go of it on the boards, and insulting to FreeOnes' basic goals.

As I've said in my replies, yes, I do think that the voting system is constantly evolving and that is a good and necessary thing, as there is still inequality in the system. That being said though, the bigger issue is trying to band together to influence the outcome of this year's contest. I realize that we only have 3 votes in this final round, but I'm happy and willing to commit 2 of my votes:
- One of my daily votes will be for Miss Hybrid in the Miss FreeOnes category. This will be my ONLY vote in that category.
- One of my daily votes will be for Jaana Ruutu in the Best Newcomer category.
- My final daily vote will be divided between Briana Lee in Cam Girl, Briana Lee in Adult Model, (and time and contest permitting) other favourites and those deserving of a vote, as well as an occasional OCSM vote.

Seeing Christy Mack up at the top of the categories irks me because she does not participate here at all, and she is actively encouraging cheating on on twitter.
