Football (soccer) Summer Transfers

This is old news here in Britain. When George Graham was in charge at Arsenal, he did a few bungs and was caught for it. Also there was high profile players too like John Fashanu and Bruce Grobblaar. Bungs and football go hand in hand, as long as theres one, there will be the other too. But rightly it's usually the player, players agent, manager and directors who are punished. As it's not the clubs fault usually.

Illegal approaches is another one that always goes off. Which are very often caught and the club get a fine for. Ashley Cole and Chelsea one of the most recent high profile ones.

Even the late, great Brian Clough was implicated once:

I actually heard Wenger say that he'd like to have Trezeguet pair up with Henry.
There are so many rumors at this stage, its just ridiculous.

Fernando Torres may be signed to Manchester United for 25 million and Ruud is likely heading either to the Allianz ArenA or the Bernabeu.

Liverpool were today linked by the news of the world to Trezeguet, Zambrotta and Cameronesi. So that rules them three out, then.

More concretely, Wenger has said Arsenal will not dip into the Italian transfer pool, and Benitez has said that Trezeguet would be a great fit at Liverpool.

I HATE Trezeguet!

First don't read to much into the Man Utd story, them like Liverpool have been link with everybody.

As for Trezequet, he's the only one I'd want, as I see him as been the only one able to make it in the Premiership. He seems to play in a British way like Henry.

Most players who succeed in Italy/England can succeed in England/Italy, in my opinion, since both leagues are based on strong physical defences.

On other news,

Liverpool signed Aurelio (Valencia) - but you probably already mentioned it.

Foggia, the young Italian talent who impressed quite a few in the recent Under 21 Euro tournament is moving to AC Milan, along with Favalli (Inter Milan) and Gourcuff (Rennes).

England has a fast, physical and free flowing league. Where Italy is slow, physical and tactical league, so very different. Plus players don't get protected as much in England as they do in most leagues in the world. Why do you think Morientes never adjusted to it and Spain is more like the English league than the Italian is.

On Aurelio, I did towards the begining of last week, as I did with all the other transfers involving Liverpool, in and out. As for Fox's post on Liverpool connected to all them player's. The only one mentioned anywhere of a true good source is Trezeguet.

Crouch is still a waste of money and always will be Fox. Fowler and Bellamy was like a well oiled machine from what I've seen and was told about yesterday.

Milan are signing young talent, that's cool.

I would love to see Torres in the Premiership, I think he'll be great.

As for Trezeguet, I never doubted his brilliance in front of goal, but I just detest him as he always scores against my teams at the worst moments, most notably against Italy in the Euro 2000 final.

He'll be a great success at Liverpool and I'll have to learn to like him. I mean, I never liked Crouch and I'm learning... very slowly... to like him. I hope Crouch is the 3rd striker behind Bellamy and Trez, if we get Trez.

I would love to see some Italians moving to the Premiership. Luca Toni reminds me of Van Nistelrooy, maybe Man U can coax him to Old Trafford if the Torres deal doesn't work out.

Del Piero may be staying with Juventus, it seems. That's good news for you, Calm. Plus Juve signed some other player, I forget his name.

I don't like it when Italian players leave Italy since I've always taken pride in how they stay. I can only think of 2 GOOD players who play outside of Italy right now (Vieiri and Di Vaio), both in Monaco.

Right now there is alot of talking. Del Piero will stay 100%.
At first Cannavaro and Buffon said they would like to stay but now Cannavaro seems to be going to Real Madrid. Of course that can change in an hour.
Zambrotta will also probably go to Barcelona or Real Madrid. If Juve's appeal goes well he will probably be loaned out for one year.
Nedved also stated he would like to stay but now many teams from Qatar want him; he also said he would like to take his playing down a notch so Monaco promised him one match a week if he joins them.

Juventus signed Cristian Zanetti (Inter) and Marco Marchionni (Parma)

Woah, think about it, if Capello gets all the players he wants to join Real they would become really strong, might be able to beat Barcelona this year.
Possible line up:

Ronaldo Robinho

Guti

(x) Beckham

Emerson

Zambrotta Cannavaro Ramos Cicinho

Casillas

EDIT: In other Juventus news, it seems like Liliane Thuram will be leaving.
My source is in french so I'll tell you the gist of it:

- small chance he'll stay in B
- didn't talk with the club yet
- wants a 1st division club
- Barcelona would be a great destination

Real Betis have made their fourth signing of the summer, snapping up Barcelona's Damia Abella

Beira Mar have completed the signing of Brazilian striker Mario Jardel

Mansfield Town have signed veteran goalkeeper Carl Muggleton

Maybe Milan could snag Luca Toni? I haven't heard much about where he is heading, I assume he won't stay in serie B.

if anyone is going to raid Juve it will probably be Real Madrid and Capello. He wants Zambrotta and Emerson and Cannavaro is pretty much already going there, its a matter of days before its official.

I'm glad he wont be going to Milan since if Milan managed to get Buffon, Cannavaro, Zambrotta and Luca Toni they'd be unstopable!

Barcelona said they would like to get Juve's Liliane Thuram.

Still up for grabs are Buffon, Vieira, Camoranesi and Ibrahimovic, who will probably go to Iner.

This is the latest breaking news and is only rumour, but been reported in most newspapers and Sky Sports News. Liverpool could well be signing Dirk Kuyt in the next 48 hours, for 10 million pounds. This is the 4th attempt this week and seem that Feyenoord have given up on him as he hasn't returned for pre-season training or squad picture for next season. Plus a source close to the player says he's set his heart on going to Liverpool and the premiership.

Defender Tony Popovic has swapped Crystal Palace for Qatar by inking a one-year deal with emerging club Al Arabi

Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Holland World Cup midfielder Denny Landzaat from AZ Alkmaar

Juventus just announced that since they wanted Milan's Abbiati for an additional season and instead Milan loaned him out to Torino, the city rival, that they will not sell Buffon to Milan.

Buffon, however, says that if Juve wants to keep him he'll gladly stay.
I assume that's all talk since Cannavaro said the same and he's gonna end up in Real Madrid.

i hope arsenal buy another big name, why not zambrotta, that would be a great signing, or kaka

and get rid of Ashley Cole or Eboue? nah, you don't need to pay a shitload for a player when you already got good players in that positions.
Arsenal should get Buffon to replace Lehmann or Trezeguet to pair up with Henry.

well, zambrotta can also play in midfield, and indeed, buffon would be a great buy, although lehman did great for us in the past.
trezeguet, nah, rather not!! not my kind of player

Torino have announced the signing of Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati

Beitar Jerusalem have snapped up Ghanaian international Derek Boateng
