Football (soccer) Summer Transfers

The point was he scored goals in Holland. I was meaning just because he scored in one country doesn't mean he will score over here. I actually think he will do well. However you can't use the argument he scored goals elsewhere to justify why he will or will not perform. He is a better team player than Nistelrooy and Ronaldo but not as good a player. Kezman is also scoring goals in Spain.

Will Kuyt fit in to the way Liverpool play if they sign him. I don't think so, I am of the opinion that he should go to Spurs as they will play a sytle of football wwhich will suit him the best.

Derek Riordan has signed for Celtic. He has joined Jiri Jarosik, Evander Sno, Kenny Miller and Gary Caldwell in joining Celtic.

Andreas Hinkel has left Stugart to sign for Sevilla,

Deportivo La Coruna have signed Riki from Getafe.

Jeremy Menez has signed for Monaco from Sochaux provided he passes a mdical.

Yoann Gourcuff has signed for AC Milan from Rennes.

Emanuele Blasi has joined Fiorentina on a year long loan from Juventus.

Dundee United have signed Steven Robb, Noel Hunt and Craig Conway.

Also Celtic and Newcastle are believed to be fighting it out to land Jimmy Hasselbaink.

Well since Kezman moved from Chelsea he's found his goalscoring form again. So maybe it was he just didn't fit into Chelsea's style of play. As a lot of Chelsea's star players don't, as their not that great a team. I think a lot of clubs are scared of them for the star names and not what they can do. If you attack them they always seem to looked poor, Wigan did this in there first game last season, plus some of the others when Chelsea struggled for a period. This is what Liverpool also did in the FA Cup semi-final and we all know what happened there.

Back to the topic of the thread though, anyone heard anymore on the Nuno Gomes to Portsmouth transfer. Now that would be a interesting move.

Hadn't heard about Nuno Gomes to Pompey but I had heard Defoe to them for £12 million and Anelka for £8 million. They are also chasing Sol Campbell but so are Fenerbache.

Tottenham has signed Berbatov (or something), scored over 20 goal last year in bundesliga, I think he played for B. Dortmund.

Porstmouth are trying to sign Celtic's Stilian Petrov.

Lyon and Monaco have agreed the swap between Sebastien Squillaci and Sylvain Monsoreau.

Greek midfielder Kostas Katsouranis has joined Benfica from AEK Athens.

Sporting have snapped up Swedish international Pontus Farnerud from relegated French side Strasbourg.

Lazio have agreed a permanent deal for Macedonia striker Goran Pandev with joint-owners Udinese.

FC Copenhagen have completed the signing of Stuttgart winger Jesper Gronkjaer on a four-year contract.

Spurs want to sign Ivory Coast midfielder Didier Zokora.

Here's a thought, how many top stars at Lazio, Juventus and AC Milan will stay at the clubs if they're all relegated to serie C. I'd also bet there would be some panic selling to off load there massive wages too. It would be like the bargin bucket in the store lol.

Kaka just signed a new 5 year deal at Milan so he must be shitting himself just now.

Juventus want to offload Mutu regardless of outcome.

Man United were linked with Gattuso a while back so it would be the perfect opportunity to sign him if AC Milan were to be relagated. He is a better defensive Midfield option than Carrick (Who they bidded £10 million for).

Read a while back Luca Toni is going to Barcelona but haven't heard anything bout that for a while.

They would be relegated to Serie B, I don't think even the Italians want to kill 2 of their best teams, they still want fame in Europe.

Old time players won't leave, I know Del Piero said he won't leave and this is the time the team needs him most and I know Nedved retires after this season so he might as well stay. And, as mentioned above, Kaka just signed until 2011, I doubt Pirlo and co. will leave, too.

I assume players like Emerson, Ibrahimovic, maybe Seedorf or Gilardino, those will leave.

I wouldn't worry about their salaries too much. Don't forget that these are still 2 of the biggest clubs in Europe and without a doubt the 2 biggest clubs in England, sponsorts would jump on the opportunity to sign them since 99% they would be back in the Champions League in 2 years.
Besides, Juventus signed a MAJOR deal with Nike this season, money is not an issue.

Sorry Calm but it's been reported that because the amount of counts they would be found guilty of. They all 3 would be relegated 2 divisions to serie C. This is on UEFA and FIFA rules and not the Italian FA's.

EDIT:
You'll find all 3 of them are in debt, as you'll find just about every major football club in europe is, even Chelsea. I know they have Roman, but the club itself is in major debt. If he left tomorrow Chelsea would be bankrupt the next day!

That sucks, the Italian Serie A is my favorite league, how can I enjoy it now when Juve wont play Inter and Inter wont play Milan and Lazio wont play Roma?

It's a pretty stupid punishment, too, since those big teams, Juventus and Milan, own half of the players in the smaller teams so every game you could accuse them (small teams) of giving the game away in the benefit of their real owners.

F.Ribery is moving from Marseille (OM) to Lyon (OL) but who cares ??? :D
