Feds going after Toyota to help GM?

Okay so GM finally did something halfway decent with the new Camaro, but that's just not enough. Letting Pontiac die without at least giving them a chance to unleash their legendary pony car was just B.S. GM needs to:

A. Bring back Pontiac with a redesigned Grand Am, give the GTO the size and power it deserves, and put that big bird on the hood of the Gen 5 body.

B. Unveil a brand new Monte Carlo as a direct competetor to the Charger, and put the flagship designation to the Impala and give it back the large size and luxury ammenties it should have.

Toyota should just issue a press release that says :dunno:

March 5 (Bloomberg) -- More than 60 owners have complained of unintended acceleration in their Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles after dealer repairs under the automaker’s recalls, U.S. regulators said.

Except for the fact that NHTSA just got done investigating GM's recalls. :o

"Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive."

Should this guy run Toyota, :yahoo:, or this one? :jester: Would anybody even notice a difference? :dunno:

(Reuters) - A senior Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) executive in the United States warned in a January email that the automaker needed to "come clean" on a safety defect that caused accelerator pedals to become stuck open.

The January 16 email from Irv Miller, then Toyota's top U.S. spokesman, was sent five days before the automaker launched a recall for about 2.3 million vehicle to fix the sticky accelerator pedals.

"We are not protecting our customers by keeping this quiet," Miller said in his email. "The time to hide on this one is over. We need to come clean." (:nono:)

A copy of the document was obtained by Reuters on Thursday. Its release comes as Toyota considers whether to appeal a proposed $16.4 million safety fine by U.S. safety regulators.

It's possible, but Toyota also employs a number of Americans. If I remember correctly, the plant that manufactured the faulty accelerators was American.

I think they handled the appearance of the Mr. Toyota very harshly. That guy is a symbol of the country and deserved a little more respect. It's not like they were making garbage cars for a long time, though they've gotten worse over the last few years.

It was reported in Japan as being a racist ****** on Japanese (though that's really not the case.)

The companies that profits the most from all this is Honda and Ford. Not Chevrolet.
