Re: Etiquette with OCSMs (aka those smoking hot girls that post on this board willing
That's partly human nature, but also female model psychology.
Look at it from their perspective. Since early adulthood most of them have been told how great they look, how nice they look, blah blah blah, and other insincere compliments that come from photographers, friends, and random people.
So to them compliments are meaningless because they hear them all the time, so it's just part of the usual background noise they deal with pretty much every day.
Which is why when a guy doesn't compliment them and says something less than complimentary they notice it and in some cases get offended far more than they would if they weren't surrounded by sycophants all day.
This is also why when approaching women who are above average in looks, you never compliment their appearance, instead you use negs, or statements to show you're completely unaffected by their looks.
Which gets their attention, whereas compliments just go in one ear and out the other.
But with that said, something else I've noticed too. On one of the threads dedicated to a certain, very popular model, this guy was really going over the line, claiming that he knew her real name, knew how much plastic surgery she'd had, etc. He was a real dick - but he was the only one. Everyone else in that thread defended her, and either ignored him or beat on him. Instead of focusing on the other 99.9% who were there for her, she chose to focus on the dick (until he was finally banned). And I've noticed that she doesn't post as much as she used to. Maybe it's human nature to be more bothered by the person giving you a hard time than everyone else who is trying to support you. But I was about as annoyed by her reaction as I was by his childish behavior. Ya gotta know who your "friends" are, yeah? :dunno:
