Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

So I have put a lot of hours into the game and am currently a level 37 and I gotta say I am not really impressed with the main story lines in the game. I mean without saying any spoilers they set you up with an extreme bias early on in the game, when a game should start you off neutral of any disagreement. Gameplay is good though.. well its skyrim so that is to be expected but I was expecting more of an engaging main story line.

I still haven't got my copy
So while waiting I have to settle with videos on YouTube.

Here's a very nice timelapse video!

I had my copy but just sold it on eBay untouched! Last night GAME dropped the price of the Collectors Edition from £130 to £90 and that was enough for me to take the bait and go for it, I listed my normal copy for £35 Buy It Now on eBay and it sold in hours so I just gotta post in the morning. £90 is still a bit steep but much more reasonable than the original £130 asking price, link here if anyone's interested

Clicked on that link and it is back up to 129.99 pounds ;)

They must've got so many orders they jacked the price back up. I'd selected that 'price alert' where you select the price you want to pay and they email you if they reduce the price to under that which they did, when I posted the link a few hours ago it was still £89.99. Let's hope they send it to me and charge the correct amount  After all this I doubt I'll even get time to play it!

Anybody want to share some cool, unusual locations or discoveries they found? I just finished Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Companions, Forbidden Legend and College of Winterhold and I don't want to continue the main storyline quite yet. Anybody have any suggestions?

Have you done any of the daedric artifact quests?
I've done them for Hircine (Ill Met By Moonlight), Molag Bal (House of Horrors), Sanguine (A Night To Remember) and Azura (The Black Star) so far...Pretty good although a few of the artifacts are missable, I think 4 out of the 15.

Also I felt kind of gypped that some of the word walls are the same as words you get as part of the main quests, got a duplicate today.
It was in Sunderstone Gorge if you haven't been there.

Could try looking for the easter eggs too

Did I mention I got my copy finally?! :bigjump:
But I've only been in the very first town yet after you leave the tunnels at the start.

So far the UI is something I need to get used to (playing on a PC).
I know you can bind stuff on the 1-8 keys but it's totally unclear to me when I press a number which hand is using the skill. So I wanted to attack some mob, clicked the left mouse button and instead I was healing myself etcetera.

Ah well, I guess I have to play some more and hopefully it starts making more sense.

Got my Collectors Edition for £90! Unfortunately no time to play it as yet but will try to make some time next week, I seem to only have an hour free here and there and I'm on a damn course of antiobiotics which have me drifting in and out so I need to wait till I have a clear head with plenty of time before I start judging by all the comments above

I started a Norde character and made it to Whiterun. Once there, I talked to the guard, and went past the gate. Once in Whiterun, within seconds the guard came up to me and said I was under arrest. There was either a chance to go to jail or to fight against them. I fought against them two different times and ended up dying.

So pissed at that, I re-started my game and created a new Norde character. Hopefully that won't happen again because I just escaped the dragon and made it to the little dungeon thing.

You probably attacked a chicken earlier in the game and it set you some bounty to pay. Killing a civilian or guard is 1000 gold bounty but doing minor things can be as little as 1gp. I once stole something by accident and I had to pay 1gp bounty. Stealing a horse is a little different, you will amount a bounty everytime you get back onto a horse.

Hell no I am keeping the good stuff. Especially anything thief related. My archery skill is going a little too high at the moment and outbalancing other skills, but I'm not that far into the game. I keep doing side quests.

If you want a good place to store things while you afford a house, try Pinewatch.

Summerbreeze(or what it's name was again) is cheap.

Is this like Oblivion then where they game itself and the guards and merchants are psychic and somehow know that something was stolen or you did something wrong when no plausible explanation for it exist?

Also is the leveling up system as bad as Oblivion and does it still have the same system of adjusting your opponents strength?

Does Skyrim have a decent cohesive plot that is more than just tacked on?

The levelling has improved ALOT, and the enemies doesn't have the same level as you.

I found the main story pretty decent for a Beth game.

Never experienced what Oblivion was like but as long as you are sneaking and hidden no one will ever catch you for your crime I think.
I finished the main questline today and the plot did seem alright. Not the best but not the worst. The final quest showdown probably could have been done better imo.

I'm good with storage space, I have over 100,000 gold anyway haha. I just sold it as I didn't think it was useful at the time. My character there is mainly a 2 handed weapon/heavy armor warrior guy.
The real reason for making sure you don't sell any of the thieves guild armor is (potential spoiler, don't quote please)*it stops you from being able to fully complete 'returning the guild to it's former glory', preventing you from ever becoming the Thieves Guildmaster and finishing their questline*

Can you sell stolen things to a normal merchant without them somehow knowing you stole and item? (Not that I had a problem with that in the other game because I didn't steal things for role playing reasons, but it seemed to break verisimilitude so much it bothered me in Oblivion.)

Something else I wondered about is can you place items in the world how you want? If you can buy property, can you then fill it with souvenirs you have found without haphazardly having them lie around the place, for example having something sit nicely on the shelf instead of being forced to toss it on the floor.
