Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Anybody get the ancient shrouded armour? It's sic, but it won't let me wear the cowl. It says it's equipped but doesn't show on my character!! Rage!

3 freezes today, and each time I restart the PS3 has to do some file retrieval bs. I hope this is fixed soon. The game is too good to give up on, but my patience grows thin.

There has been several games that have been released beforehand on one console and postponed for a different console. Bethesda really screwed up big time, this is some real big issue they should have noticed beforehand and provided seperate release dates for each console had not been finished properly (The history is that PS3 games are finished later than X360 games). Its just now people are accustomed to their PS3 they expect games to be released at the same time, and this has obviously been an issue with something Bethesda foredbode, perhaps there a decision to have set back a release date for PS3 consoles could have been perfectly justified with my previous point, and backed up with the fact that Sony should bear some responsibility due to the fact of immense security issues in the third and final quarter.

Yet somehow Sony and Bethesda lose rep, and there are a vast majority of gamers with two consoles who if they had of known could have pre-ordered an Xbox version. Lastly, this is a disapointment, even though I own Skyrim on X360, and only own an X360. I would have been tremendously pissed the fuck off had my version been unplayable.

In the long term this could mean stocks in sony coming down, and well the rest is gravy.

The last game I purchased at full price was Star Wars Unleashed II on its midnight release

Someone with the patch reported having the Dragons flying backwards. Someone on facebook took a video of it, and I ended up watching it. I couldn't stop laughing at this.

This is the final week of classes in this semester for me, and I have decided to stop playing video games until I'm done. First game I plan on playing is Skyrim, I am starting at the very beginning too. Hopefully all of these glitches and bugs won't occur when I'm playing.

Are the patch troubles being caused with already established characters? Because I've been playing with a second character (lvl 17 now) since it got released and the game has been running without a hitch . Kinda worried to go back to my main character at the moment.
You can tell some of the things they changed though, like the Dragonsreach dining tables having no food on them.

I had my copy but just sold it on eBay untouched! Last night GAME dropped the price of the Collectors Edition from £130 to £90 and that was enough for me to take the bait and go for it, I listed my normal copy for £35 Buy It Now on eBay and it sold in hours so I just gotta post in the morning. £90 is still a bit steep but much more reasonable than the original £130 asking price, link here if anyone's interested

Clicked on that link and it is back up to 129.99 pounds ;)
It's back on for £89.99 if anyone's interested, probably for not even a day like last time

I can't even play 15 minutes without the game freezing. Looks like I'm selling this piece of shit game.

Same here, unfortunately I got mine through Steam... so fat chance of a refund there.

Tried to get it when Relic broke Warhammer 40k: Space marine, but they claimed they didnt give a shit. They didnt use those exact words, but the underlying meaning was there.

Bethesda need better coders, storyline writers and animators.

There is a another patch coming out soon, for more minor fixes I think (the patch to to patch the patch). The major one is around January.
I had a couple of freezes trying to save that fixed themselves after a few minutes and one backwards dragon. Broken magic resistance turned out to be the most annoying. Didn't get much lag. I switched all forms of autosave off right at the start which might have helped.
Don't really like Bethesda's wording of their press releases around their bugs. Like the PS3 lag problem being only 'occasional', and saying they fixed the long term play issue when they it looks like just delayed it.
It could explain why they handed out Xbox and PC copies to reviewers but made them go out and buy the PS3 version after release. They knew it was broken and didn't want customers to know until it was too late.

I've already done all the major questlines, got to level 50 and platinum etc., but they said you can play Skyrim forever. Forgot to add, unless you have it on PS3, then it will eventually break. Anyway, thanks for your money.

Ok I've never played a game like this before but with all the hype I think I might get it for my PS3. Is it something a n00b like me can enjoy?

It's perfect for a first timer because you can set the difficulty level, it's single player so you won't have to get into groups with shady characters just to finish quests, and you won't be spammed or have to deal with jerks trolling on general chat. My review is that it's kind of overrated but still a lot of fun if you like exploring. TO be honest, I think Dragon Age did more things better than Skyrim, but nothing beats Skyrim if you like to explore scurry through forts and dungeons.

Stable yes. It's not like you're playing on servers or anything. You get patches and steam forums which I haven't even used yet.

The UI is CRAP for PC though. I play it on PC and it can be very annoying dealing with flying dragons or high perched ranged dps of any kind.

I am still enjoying this game but it's getting old that people and sites continue to defend Bethesda by saying "Oh it's just the Bethesda charm in the game", if this were almost any other developer, this would be an absolutely untested, buggy piece of shit. I like seeing small glitches as much as the next person, where horses just start flying or there are enemies floating in the air for no real reason but when it affects my combat that causes me to die or when I can't even complete quests (in one case, I can't even do the first part of a quest), I would say this is something they need to rectify as soon as possible. If they do add DLC and decide to charge for it, I will throw shit, literal feces, at their offices!!!

I'm guessing that I should not buy Skyrim for PS3 with all the issues people are having?

PC would probably be the best option if you've got one that can handle the game since patches don't need to be approved by Sony or Microsoft therefore you'll get them quicker plus there are regular folks fixing the game with different mods. After that the next most stable system is the 360 version.
