dungeons and dragons (D&D) anyone?

I always loved to play board games but never much into D&D games until recently and never really knew they had Zombie themed ones until reading posts here too.

So which Zombie themed game would you recommend to purchase ??

Zombicide looks a bit pricey at the moment but if its worth it I might give in, just be hard to convince the wife.
I like the idea of Last Night on Earth where other players can play as Zombies so looking for that ability too.

Both Zombicide and Last Night on Earth are a lot of fun. Yea, zombicide is fairly highly priced, but for a cooperative boardgame with that many pieces, it's not unreasonable.

LNoE is a bit more budget priced and there's a lot of expansions for it. It gets played quite a bit.

A few other zombie themed games are zombie fluxx, zombie dice, zombie mall, zombie munchkin, zombies!!!, city of horror (haven't played it yet), think walking dead has a game now too. Also, keep an eye on kickstarter...zombie games come up there quite a bit (zombicide was one of them).

And then of course, not specifically zombie themed, you have Arkham horror. There are zombies in the monsters.

Thanks for the info. More games than I thought. Looks like I got myself some more research to do.

There's another fun game, not zombies, but fun none the less. It's called gloom. Basically you control a family (2-4 players) and the goal is to make your family as miserable as possible. There's different cards that give them plus or minus modifiers, so you always make sure that nice things are happening to your competition. The fun thing is coming up with the story on why the event on the cards are taking place. ;-)

I have the cthulhu version.

Haha sounds like devilish fun, but its looks like its strickly card game. Looking for board and moving pieces before I move on to try card only games.

Another fun boardgame, not zombie or horrors of the deep related, is Ticket to Ride. Got it for Christmas and it's tons of fun.

Ya I came across that while looking up zombie games. Ill be grabing LNoE tomorrow if they have in stock at local board game shop, but maybe ill impulse buy the Ticket to Ride if its not to expensive.

Not sure if you've came across this, but Wil Wheaton does a web series called Table Top. Here's LNoE and Ticket to Ride. I'll add Gloom just because it's fucking hilarious.

Oh, and Pandemic is a decent cooperative board game. That's on TableTop too.

Thanks. I seen of few of his Table Top episodes already while searching gameplay videos.. Didnt check out Ticket to Ride though...yet. I purchased LNoE today and was going to buy Ticket but they had 4 versions to choose and the guy who was helping me find the game from a wall with 100s of diferent board games i never heard of said the euro version was the best so I gota look into that now before i decide. Even LNoE had the Timber Peak edition which he said was a big seller but I decided on the original first.

I have the european version too. A friend of mine who has them all said that it's the best out of all of them.

It's loads of fun. Kind of like Settlers of Cantan in the building and collecting resources, but you have the route objectives that you have to keep in mind.

As a note to the above, Pandemic is brilliant fun, especially if you get the expansion "On the brink".

Get a bunch of friends together and watch the world burn around you while you try to save it, mostly in vain.

At the gaming store I mentioned earlier. I was along with others because they were playing in a Magic the Gathering pre-release event. I don't play MtG, but the hours that was going on I was browsing the store. It's a long drive so it's not something I can do often now though. Still I picked up some stuff. I got a Chessex Megamat while I was there also. I wold have bought some dice, but I was already spending a lot of money.
