disrespect for the american flag

Really? When I see it, I'm reminded of how unpatriotic that American citizens really are. Seriously, we think that hanging a fucking flag in front of our house and taking our hats off during the National Anthem makes us better Americans. Yet, we buy cheap crap that's made overseas and support other countries and their citizens, and then turn around and refuse to help the 90 year old lady living next door cut her front lawn. The American flag...patriotic? Now-a-days, it's anything but.

i love my flag because it represents the greatest jack in history, and how some gangsters and killers cleared house and set up shop. when used as clothing, or as anything that gives a nod the flag, is good. uncle sam is annoying, but a naked girl in a blanket, or a bikini, well that makes me say god bless america

Ummm....I've been in the country a year. Still have a lot to learn.

I was standing in the queue to buy a movie ticket now I have a bit of time. It is disappointing to hear people say no to donating $1 to help children, or being unwilling to contribute the rounded off amount towards cancer research at a supermarket.

Maybe arrogance, selfishness and a total lack of interest in the welfare of others goes hand in hand with opulence.

I am hoping this 'economic downturn' will have its positive influence in that it will shake people up to have more compassion.

As for the interference in other countries. Would you say this is a trend that began after WW2?

Maybe had we been more successful in helping governments with a more democratic approach the flag would be something to be more proud of.

I can agree with a lot of this. But how is not helping the old lady unpatriotic? I mean being a dick and patriotism are two different things.:dunno::hatsoff:

I pledge defiance to the flag of the United Snakes of Captivity,
And to the Republic for which it stands, I dip it in kerosene, and stick it up the ass of you-know-who and light it!

One nation, under God--or else
One nation of psychopathic Pentagon gangsters, whose idea of national security is concentration camps for people who dare to use the drugs that the CIA brings in and the government supplies themselves.

One nation, under Wall Street.
If the cops and the government are all criminals, I might as well be one too!
One Nation of tabloid robots who actually believe what they see on TV, even on MTV.
And when asked what they think about it, they reply, “I don’t care.”
One nation, drowning in its own garbage
Indivisible from the fall of Rome
With liberty and justice for all--who can afford it.

If the Communists can do it, why can't we?
Let's throw the bastards out and try some real Democracy.

Let's have a government run not by rich people, not by Army people
Not by sons of senators sons of senators sons of senators sons
After all, have you noticed
The more they dole out Democracy over there
The more they take it away over here?

Now, before it's too late to even talk about stuff like this, be a patriot.
A True Patriot. The one that cares more about your country than forcing people to worship a flag.
And let it Burn! Burn! Burn!

In this case I do believe that it is disrespectful. Hot, but disrespectful. Flag bikinis and such I have no problem with. But this is an actual flag. I'm not going to get upset about somthing like this however. There are much worse things happening for this to be that big of an issue.

I have a great idea!

From this day on, all pornstars & centerfolds can only pose using the Dutch flag (& bikinis with a dutch flag print) & all pics & movies made before today should be edited by the companies who made them.

I'd personally be proud if a girl would honor my country by using the flag as a cover & if she would place her hot body on top of it. :D

Well, it's displayed proudly outside my porch :salute: :usaflag:

Banned?
Hanna Hilton is just lying around naked on the flag, it's probably a better way to celebrate your country than just saluting it.

This is just as stupid as when people get upset over people burning the American flag. It's not your flag their burning, it's their own, they probably even paid for it...

At the VFW posts around the country (I never participate in any of their activities btw. I prefer the Marine Corps League)they collect worn and tattered flags for proper disposal.

In addition to that there are several conditions that must be met for the flag to be displayed correctly.

This section covers the question raised by the OP.
(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.

(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.

This sequence delineates the symbolic importance of the flag.
(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.

I don't know what penalties someone might face for the desecration of the flag, but I know if someone thinks that they have the right to burn it in protest they should expect a counter protest from someone like me which would entail a serious ass whoopin'.

I was making a point about how America operates. We support foreign countries by spending billions of dollars, exporting an overly-generous amount of food and offering up a countless number of man-hours to help assist them in their struggles, but we can't even do a task as simple as cutting the grass for an elderly neighbor in our own country to help our own people. How exactly is what we (as Americans) do in this country in any way, shape or form patriotic at all, when the result of our so-called "patriotism" ends up harming our own country?

I just think we have it all ass-backwards.

Most people think that meaningless bullshit makes them good Americans - hanging a flag in their yard, wearing a bald eagle hat, donating $20 to AmVets, knowing the words to Lee Greenwood songs, shooting off fireworks on the 4th of July, etc. None of that is patriotic - it's all an easy to fall back on, socially acceptable excuse that people rely on when they want to prove to everybody how much they love this country.

^^I suspect it's a case of: (saying this in jest people:o ): Fuck the Monarchy OR Fuck the Flag :1orglaugh

I have always wondered how people feel if people pose with flags for pictures.

For instance, if Vicky Vette did a photoshoot with the Norweigian flag, would anyone from Norway object to it?

How would a German feel if Katja Kassin did a photo with the national flag of Germany?

Rita Faltoyano/Sophie Evans with a Hungarian flag?
