Did trump's threats actually work?

This is getting bigger than Baltimore, and it's still snowballing. If trump thinks his threats worked last time, he's going to be doubling down. Which is very dangerous, not only because he thinks it will work, but also because there will be a point where he CAN'T back down because he'll think it will make him look weak. I don't know when that "point of no return" will be, but let's hope it doesn't get there, because it will be horrible for everyone.

Nice assessment. We won't know until we blow right past the point of no return.

I'm sure there are a ton of Americans in denial right now, because "it could never happen here, surely somebody would stop it before it gets that far." Well, it's gone that far, and nobody even looks like stopping it.
Sooner or later there's going to be an incident, something unplanned. One of these feds is going to shoot someone in the face with a rubber bullet and kill them, or something of that nature, and the people in the street are going to swarm the feds. Of course there will be huge losses on both sides, but the masses will win, because they pretty much always do, and then there will be no going back, at least until and unless a someone steps in and orders the feds to stand down. trump and republicans will use it as an excuse to steal the election, or not even hold one at all, which they might even manage to pull off considering the shit they've gotten away with so far. At that point there will be nothing but civil unrest and violence for the USA for a good long while.
I knew trump would be bad, but I didn't think he'd be this bad, and I had kind of hoped that by this point, a lot fewer "patriots" would still be cheering him on.
