During the press conference, the local sheriff is saying that there is a second suspect, described as a White male in his 50's, who may be involved in this incident. He is being sought but hasn't been captured yet.

I've always found it amusing how "conservatives" claim to be strict constructionists of the United States Constitution when it suits their agenda.....and they favor rather liberal interpretations of things such as the 2nd Amendment! Last time I read the 2nd Amendment, the current interpretation being carried out is quite liberal indeed! Funny how things work that way sometimes! For the record, I received an A in Constitutional Law @ Penn State.
But I keep forgetting the old mantra: Guns don't kill people, people kill people! It's just an inconvenient fact that guns sure as fuck make it a hell of a lot easier (especially for COWARDS)! Like it or not, it takes some guts to stab or beat someone to death! Shooting someone is fairly gutless (especially when the one being shot is unarmed)!
And to address the fact that I addressed American arrogance in an earlier post. That was clearly taken out of context. The point that I was making was that it is acts such as this that TOTALLY discredits any claims of American superiority! And that my friends is an undeniable fact! Hell, didn't they have a big shooting at an Arizona mall within the past week?
When it comes to American superiority......actions speak louder than words my friends! And seemingly time and time again.....we prove in fact, that we aren't better than anybody! Furthermore, knowing how our overabundance of whack jobs work.....knowing for every one that acts, there are thousands waiting to act......I'd definitely step up security....can anyone say copycats? As they seem to be a requisite following any lunatic act in the United States!

Yes, because this NEVER happens in other countries.
But I thought we were supposedly the GREATEST country on the planet & in this history of mankind! But, when it is convenient, I guess we are just like other countries like Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Israel, Egypt, Mexico (though much of the violence down there is the result of our insatiable appetite for illicit drugs, coupled with out long standing FAILED drug policy), etc. Which is it.....are we the greatest or not? He's only being called "a person of interest" right now. I don't know who said it, but someone just speculated that this person maybe have given Loughner a ride to the event and then left.
And as Stan just posted, the sheriff was visibly pissed that Arizona is getting a negative rep as a place where wingnuts and bigots can come to Mecca and worship. When a reporter said something about radio talking head wingnuts just exercising their 1st Amendment rights (as they fan the flames), I thought that little 74 year old sheriff was going to open a can of whoop ass. He quickly shot back at the guy, "with rights come responsibilities!"
Back in 2008, some Tea Partiers tried to blow up the house of a Congressman where I used to live. But instead of Tom Perrielo, the illiterate dumbasses got his brother's house. They could have easily killed that guy and his whole family! I don't care what people believe. I don't care if you're on the left or the right. Agree or disagree with other people, but if you can't do it in a peaceful manner, and you'd rather sit around in a circle with other wingnuts and stroke each other into believing that you need to "reload and not retreat", I think we've gotten to the point that these people/groups need to be dealt with... by any means necessary.
