There is virtually nothing different about American and Chinese capitalism - it all about wanting to profit, so if modern factories make more profit that is the direction everyone in the world wants to go, if it was bitcoins that would be the direction everyone worldwide would go etc.

The differences between how to do business in China and America are the differences in government controls - differences when the Chinese Communist Party are in power compared to when trump in power or Biden or whatever president.

For example, foreign investment, there are rules for foreign investment as per each country - some like China force foreign companies to have local Chinese own a certain percent of each company, other countries like America have less rules.

But simply put, the capitalism has no differences country to country - only the government controls that effect the economy and business climate have differences country to country.

This thread you created could be titled the rise of totalitarianism without the word capitalism in it and it would describe things just as well - capitalism shouldn't be vilified, is just the way people do business in various different forms and procedures depending on who doing business with who.

I'll use your example of the pet cats and lions because capitalism is exactly like you describe in your example, they are both cats or both capitalist as you say, but one is more dangerous than the other but it's not because they are both cats or both capitalists - it's because one is more powerful than the other, just like China is more powerful than many other countries, so there no point to be afraid of capitalist because capitalism is the basically the same everywhere, be afraid of power being used for bad purposes. Just like the lion that eats - if the lion never ate any humans you wouldn't worry, but if lions or any cats were biting humans you'd worry.

I'm not ignoring the authoritarian or totalitarian control over the economy in China makes doing business there different than elsewhere - I'm just saying that labelling it as a form of capitalism is not accurate, it's like the guy in your video said, you should consider not trying to label and categorize the infinite different ways to do business as infinite different forms of capitalism.

If you want to say that the authoritarianism and totalitarianism in China is helping it become more powerful than anyone could've predicted - fine, nothing inaccurate there.
