Everyone always disses John Frusciante's solos, but i for one like a lot of them. Mainly stuff on, or before, Californication. I'll agree he's become slightly mediocre recently...

Right, David gilmour of Pink Floyd has some great ones.
Mick Taylor, when he was in the Stones had some great solos in songs like Winter and Bitch, plus many others.
Jimmy Page, Rossington and Collins and Gaines from Skynyrd.
Niel young Like a Hurricane.
And Zappa of course.
