If you wanna hear two guitars cry, why not go to the original source, the innovators of the twin lead guitars, Wishbone Ash. These guys started in 1970 and are still playing today. Granted, there is only one original member left, and that is Andy Powell, the master of the flying v, but the band still sounds as good as ever. The Argus album of 1972 contained many hits such as The King Will Come, Blowin Free, Throw Down The Sword, Sometime World, etc. Check them out at www.wishboneash.com

Like someone said, there can be no definitive answer. There are so many, a lot of which have already been mentioned.

One that has not, however, is a personal favorite of mine....

Eric Clapton's solo on "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" - Beatles, White Album

GodSpeed you Black Emperor - East hasting
Explosions in the Sky - have you passed through this night
Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
Jimi Hendrix -All Along Tthe Watchtower & Stone Free Live
The Doors - The End

Yesterday by Paul McCartney.

Best guitar solo(acoustic) in the history of this planet.

And greatest Bass player of all time.

BTW, people are just throwing out songs. I guess the name of this thread should be renamed.
