Baseball is Back! - the 2018 Season.

I didn't have an issue with the commenters, my issue was the fact that the game wasn't on my television screen. I would get MLB.TV but there's no point, the game would be blacked out for me unless I want to watch the replay, which would be shown on SNY anyway, but a quick look at the guide shows only the Mets/Nationals and replay. Oh well, MLB At Bat already told me the Mets won 4-2.

I'm a Giant fan in New York so I can get all the Giant games on MLB.TV except the ones where the Mets are the opponent, when SNY is the main network. When that's the case, then I can listen to Howie Rose who does Mets radio. Mr. Rose knows his stuff and he's a good commentator. And it's an improvement over "Homer" Gary Cohen and his pal, Ron Darling.

When those two are together in the booth. I'd rather commit suicide :suicide: Yikes!

Although, I do like Keith Hernandez. :) ;) :)

Also I wouldn't get Giant games every three years when the Giants play the AL East (Yankees) and the Yes Network is the main network. - then I'll have to deal with the suicide hotline :suicide: -- John Sterling (aka The YAAAAANNNNNNNNKKKKKEEEEEES WIN!!!!) or his sidekick, Suzyn Waldman (aka Ooooh, there is my lovely Roger Clemens. :lovecoupl He's my dreamboat.) -- Double Yikes!!

The Giants took care of King Felix as Johnny Cueto aka "Cinco" aka "Johnny C-Note" wins his second game, Giants 10, Mariners 1

Hernandez's pitching line: 4 inngs, 6 hits, 8 ER, 5 BB, 1 K, 3 HRs allowed.
Cueto's pitching line: 6 inngs, 8 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 K.

And the FAT MAN, Pablo Sandoval, hit a 3 run homer! :) .. Pablo Sandoval is batting .333.

And the LAD was swept in Phoenix. :D .. A one hitter by Patrick Corbin and two other Arizona relievers.

I listen to Howie Rose on the radio when I'm out driving and the game is on. Since I was at home, I wasn't going to sit in my car for 3 hours. I happen to like Gary, Keith and Ron though. I like their excitement and banter. Every other teams commentators sound like they're phoning it in to me and I can't stand them.

The Mets are rolling. They took the first two game from their rivals, the Nationals down in Washington. Great start of the season for them at 6-1.

Speaking of rivals, the Giants beat the Dodgers, 7-5 in walkoff fashion. Trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the 14th inning, the Giants came up to bat. Kelby Tomlinson singled to right field. Joe Panik singled to right field, Kelby Tomlinson ran to third base on Yasiel Puig's strong throw. Andrew McCutchen who had five hits in six at bats came up to bat. The count went to 2-2. Pitch after pitch was fouled off. Andrew then hit the 11th pitch off Wilmer Font into the left field stands. A walkoff three-run homer.

3 game sweep from the Nats. Time to get out of town. 3 with the struggling Fish but that means nothing to Mets fans. Warm weather for the homecoming weekend. I'm still afraid of the Nats. Hitters going cold vs pitchers breaking down. The Mets have many games with the Brewers. Another scary team.

Waiting for the Mets to crash and burn. Glad to see those Yankees struggle. And did I express my hate for those shitty Dodgers? I love baseball.

Another win for the Mets.

Big Sexy pitching for the Rangers. I'm excited. Bartolo Colon may never get into the Hall of Fame but hell, it's so exciting to watch 5 innings from this guy.

It's this kind of shit that makes baseball exciting.

Those shitty Dodgers did the job on those Nats. Frisco, do the same.

Who are those Phillies? 4 in a row. Zona in town. More wins for them.

Over rated Harvey going to the pen. Boo whoo. Suck it up pal. Free agency coming up. Who wants him for a player to be named later?

"Dead" arm Tony Cingrani. And Pedro Baez. He is the "new" Santiago Castilla. :D Dodgers gave us the game last night. ;)

Waiting for the Mets to crash and burn.

Great game last night, blow out tonight. Never should've signed Vargas and Swarzak when there were SO many better options out there. Cheap-ass Wilpons strike again.

Still hopeful though.... I've been a huge Mets' fan forever, so hope is all I got.

Pablo Sandoval pitched for the Giants ;)

Pablo Sandoval.JPG

.... in the Giants-Dodgers 15-6 loss. He had good form. Eleven pitches. Changed speeds from 87 MPH (fastball) to 63 MPH (big curveball). He retired Max Muncy, Yasmani Grandal, and Chris Taylor on groundouts.

He had everyone in AT & T Park smiling.

Even Kenley Jansen :) ...

Congrats to Albert Pujols on joining the 3,000 hit club. Joining Hank Aaron, Willie Mays & A-Rod as the only players with 3,000+ hits & 600+ HR's. Quite the accomplishment.

Mets sever ties with Matt Harvey.

The Dark Nightmare is over. Matt Harvey and the Mets parted ways after he refused an assignment to Las Vegas. The Mets will designate him for assignment today. Good riddance to him. Mets don't need his antics. The sex-toy locker room incident last year on Twitter. Harvey posted a picture and he since has deleted it from Twitter. Caused an outrage to Mets fans. He had put the black dildo with the king's crown in his backup catcher's locker. He's an embarrassment to the Mets. Then missing a start to watch the Preakness on Saturday a few years ago plus the pre-race party on Friday night. All in South Hampton with his supermodel girfriend and his entourage. This year, the party in Los Angeles he went to with his supermodel girlfriend last weekend when the Mets were in San Diego. Lastly, his woeful pitching line against the Braves last Thursday: 2 innings, 3 hits allowed, 5 runs, 5 earned runs, 3 walks, 1 strikeout and a home run allowed ending with a 7.00 ERA was the last straw. His baseball career is over for this year. No MLB team will pick him up to pay him $5.6 million. The guy needs major help with his mechanics, maybe even some psychological help too. He wanted in the worst way to become a New York Yankee pitcher. Not anymore.

The Giants stayed hot. They beat the Braves last night with a big 6-run second inning.

Fernando Valenzuela threw out the ceremonial first pitch out in Monterrey, Mexico. Then the Dodgers went on to no-hit the Friars in Mexico. Four LAD pitchers did the Padres in. Walker Buehler, Dodgers #1 pitching prospect wearing Zack Greinke's 21, went six innings. Followed by Tony Cingrani, Yimi Garcia each going an inning, and Adam Liberatore closing it out.

Pablo, A big yacker catches often good or great hitters offstride. Doc Gooden had that yacker.

Nice to see the Mets come back into the pack. Nice to see them make the Braves look real. Nice to see the Mets a contender instead of a front runner. Welcome to being a Met fan. John I thought we could dump Harvey for a price. Ain't gonna happen.

Are we still paying David Wright and Bobby Bonilla money?

It's the 14 horse for the Kentucky D. $50 across.

Fernando does not qualify as a shitty Dodger.

Matt Harvey.... No MLB team will pick him up to pay him $5.6 million.

Via trade, yes. But if Harvey is released, a team signing him would owe just a prorated share of the $545,000 minimum. The Mets would be on the hook for that $5.6M.

There are roughly 7-8 MLB teams headed for 100 losses this year. As much as he's sucked, I could envision one of them taking a flyer since they'd really have nothing to lose.

Harvey is going to get paid one way or another... for this year. He had the chance to let his ego go and pitch. His sights on $10-15 million per year are out the window. If he would suck it up and take the assignment, Harvey would get some kind of a deal from the Mets. Free agent after this season. Good luck pal shopping after refusing to pitch for the rest of 2018.
