Why would we call you Wanks? It's Yanks as in Yankie, but actually I've known the slang term of Spams to be used more. I think that might be a more military thing though.

"Where did all of those God damn Spams come from!"

OK being a newbie, you can be allowed to get away with not getting the joke.

But dont let it happen again :D

OK now I didnt get the joke.

It's like if you state a obvious answer to a question, or ask an obvious question normally. This is what I know as a 'cheers easy', you wait then for someone to answer the obvious question, me in this instance, but then you're supposed to answer back something equally as obvious or stupid or sometimes even off topic. Something like yeah I've heard they're called Wanks too. Or you can ask another question like, so why are they called Yanks?

Here's a puzzler: I've heard Americans use the word "Batchey-ball" in reference to a sport, but what sport? Is it another way of saying basketball, or something completely different? :wave2:

It's a game (don't know if you spelled it right). I've played it a few times, drunk on the beach. It's actually not that bad.

Most of the people on here are American. ;)

It's not Batchey ball, it's Bocce ball. I've never played it myself, but, from my understanding of it, it's sort of like an outdoors bowling game where you have to knock down pins with a ball. :hatsoff:

If you Americans are intrigued as to what happens here in the UK I would advise you NOT to watch a Guy Ritchie film.

They are the biggest pile of pony (pony and trap = crap) ever to be put on film.
