Go to the East coast and even now the grass looks parched and is not really greening up.It's been a lovely summer over there.

We`ve had very little rain on the East coast. What we have had had quickly dried up.Makes a difference from when we had the floods a couple of years ago.

this is what i dont like about the Brits. You or other foriegners say americans force their way of things onto others. But this is exactly what i see from the brits.
We will take The Beatles, but that is it...its over. there is nothing more we want from you guys. No popular TV shows, or viral videos showing the dowside of texting while driving... stop trying to get world recognition for stuff that only you find amusing or important.

Ok.... So all you'll take is a band that split up 40 years ago? really? what language are you writing in? Oh, that's right, it's english...

That is all.

Prince Andrew's place on board and the possibility of the Queen's son being killed in action made the British government apprehensive, and the Cabinet desired that Andrew be moved to a desk job for the duration of the conflict. The Queen, though, insisted that her son be allowed to remain with his ship, meaning Andrew remained on board Invincible to serve as a Sea King helicopter co-pilot, flying on missions that included anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare, Exocet missile decoy, casualty evacuation, transport, and search and air rescue.

You are quoting the official view here. However, the correct and true version of events is completely different.

He may have indeed stayed on board Invincible, however the salient point is "to serve as a Sea King helicopter co-pilot". He may have offered his services, but whether he actually flew in the Sea King helicopter during live operations is open to huge doubt.

Not really.Interestingly enough in WW1 the Prince of Wales was denied active service. He was told - we don't mind you getting killed because there are other heirs to the throne. But we can't risk you getting captured.
The same arguments would apply today. It's pretty certain that Andrew did in fact fly active missions and was certainly involved in rescue operations. But the thought of the Taliban capturing Prince Harry doesn't bear thinking about. Not from his point of view but the value to the Taliban and the political fall out.

Methinks that you may have had a couple of sherbets before posting this. ;)

OK, I'll apologise for the Beckhams - no country should endure them both...

But hey, we've had to suffer bloody Hannah Montana and High School Musical...
Oh, add to the list seriously unfunny "spoof" movies like Dance Flick, Superhero Movie & Meet The Spartans, and crap Hollywood remakes which make you want to gargle razorblades...

The Beckham thing is two fold. Not only do we have both of them now but there was that horrible time in the late '90s when her and her crappy band were polluting our radio stations with their pop drivel. Surely that makes up at least for the Hanna Montana invasion.

Oh don't be like that..
I promise to call more.. maybe send some chocolates and flowers.

BTW- I'm not keen on you having the Beatles over there.. last time you had one, he came back in a coffin :hatsoff:

Don't you "cheeky" Brits get all of the WWE Pay-per-View events for free?

Unfortunately not, only about half of them. The others cost about £15 (about $22 I think) so it's a good deal, but not a great one. ;) And for some reason we don't get the "Superstars" show either. But we get Raw live, and I believe we get Smackdown even before it's shown in the U.S. :wave2:

I've seen at least two television programs over here where a person in Britain buys a car that has been created by welding two cars together. The term they use for the car is a "cut and shut". One of them was crashed at a somewhat slow speed and completely came apart. Is this kind of scam common? Has anyone ever bought one or know someone who has? Is it even illegal?

I wouldn't say that it's common, but it does happen, highly illegal but there are a few dodgy mechanics about that do it.

Don't know anyone that has been caught out but seeing as the most likely way you'll find out is by being in a crash, I hope that I never know anyone in that situation.
