Artificial brain '10 years away'

Interesting story.

I doubt it'll happen. But interesting none the less.

Doesnt Kerry Katona already have 1

If she does she needs to get a fucking refund. What a dope that woman is!

But then again, if you're the first to buy a new piece of equipment there are always going to be a few kinks in the works :D. Major ones in this case.

Fucking bollocks silly season story IMO.

"If the brain were simple enough for us to understand, we'd be so stupid we wouldn't be able to." - Douglas Adams I believe

I never put too much weight in these technological predictions.

They said we'd have a moon base by 1980.

And we were all supposed to be sitting around with our virtual-reality helmet and gloves on by about 2000.

They're always wrong.

:1orglaugh....saw that comin' Friday!

I guess they will have to "program" a good high then?

Isn't this pretty much the whole premise behind a multi-million dollar Hollywood franchise that stars Ahnuld Governator? :dunno:

Can it "think" for itself though?;):1orglaugh

Lord knows we have plenty of allegedly "fully functioning" brains to spare...but not enough them think for themselves.:o

David Beckham has already put his name down for one.

Not at all. But I'm sure now is a good time to buy stock in Skynet.

Wow, I'll buy that we'll have the materials to make an artificial brain, but judging from where AI is right now, we're at least 50 years from making any sort of sentient being realistically possible.

Funny how they would make such a claim when there still is very little understanding as to how most of the brain actually works. It's probably one of those "We choose to go to the moon, not because it's easy but becaise it is hard" kinda statements, but this time I don't think it'll work.
