lesnar is no joke as far as wrestling (amateur aka real wrestling) goes, his amateur wrestling record is no joke 106-5 in 4 years of college multiple championships...but i do get what you mean about his presence in the ufc being somewhat detrimental

it is both good and bad...it's popularity means people will want to be a part of it and there will be a large group seeking to join (aka a lot of fighters) but it also means marketing and all that sort of bullshit too...also it means a bunch of douches wearing tapout gear too

yeah. and you can buy that shit at walmart now. wtf. the reality show aspect of it is nothing but a promo for the big coach vs coach matches at the end that cost around 50 bucks if you wanna watch it on ppv.
the reality show is obviously very staged. not necessarily the fights but the shit they do in the house is so retarded. the little fights and stuff. sometimes is so cheesy it makes me sick. i watched the first 3 or 4 seasons or so and now i avoid it like the plague.
the fights in the reality show are awful. they keep getting worse.
brocks wrestling record is huge in numbers. but i doubt he faced people his size.
same with brock in the ufc. he cuts like 20 or 30 pounds to hit 265. excluding his last two fights his oponent walked around at like 230 and 240.
carwin got really tired breaking brocks face. if he had better cardio or paced his beating carwin would have won. the other took his belt.these 2 were closer to his size.

the staged bullshit is the main reason i never got in to reality shows like survivor and whatnot (or ultimate fighter for that matter)...as for the ppvs i never buy them cuz in a few months they'll be on spike for free, i can wait a bit...it's still fun to watch but like you said just a few years back there was more of an intensity too it...some of the vitality has gone out of the sport...part of it is the attempt to conform to the rules and regulations of the various states and countries the events are staged but part of it is that the sport has become so mainstream that people are thinking of it as a career so the ferocity that was once there has been tamed a bit
Did you watch the fight? GSP's face looked like chopped beef afterwards. He was getting tattoed by Shields at will in Rd 4 and Rd 5. Shields hit him with a legit punch to close the Champ's eye in Rd 2. GSP is definitely much stronger and faster, but he kept throwing these cartoonish overhand rights that I could've dodged.
Shields's corner people need to be fired. They gave him poor info and poor tactical advice. Everyone knew that GSP did enough in the first 3 to win the scoring there, but Shields was on a roll going into Rd5 and I don't get with a bloody and blind champ that Shields didn't rush him and get him on the mat? :dunno: He had to make him tap out to win the fight. I seriously think Shields thought he was going to knock out the Champ, and when that wasn't going to happen he was out of time? He blew the fight!

He is extremely sick, the last time he had an episode it nearly killed him, maybe you should do your research before you make ignorant remarks like that.... I'm not a fan of Lesnar either, but you still have to respect the guy, just look at him, do you really think he would hesitate to fight someone, he's a huge mo-fo that really shouldn't be taken lightly.

I didn't care about this season of Ultimate Fighter before and now there's really no point. I think to make a good season, the coaches have to have beef. Tito vs Shamrock, Couture vs Lidell and Rampage vs Evans were the best seasons just cause their rivalries were pretty intense. This season is just blah, it may also be because UFC has pretty much got all the non-mainstream stars now too. They're getting talent from lesser known promotions and it shows in these TUF fights, they really suck. I could go to a local event and see better fights.

... I'm not going to respond to this anymore after this post, all I'm going to say is that you should take your cynicism, which you seem to think makes you downright hilarious, elsewhere. I don't understand why you come into this thread when you clearly dislike the UFC and all you do is mock the fighters and the organization and you don't even provide any material to enhance this thread, there's people who dislike certain thread topics but at least they bring debate or suggestions to the thread, all you do is mock and act like a child with your silly responses.
Anyway, on topic, who's excited to see Mayhem make his UFC debut at UFC 132? This match along with Faber's match definitely put me on the "buy" list for 132 which is gonna be an awesome card! Edit: sorry, it's not his debut, I just remembered he was there earlier, but still, it's sort of like a debut, he hasn't competed in UFC for a long time and I think he's leaps and bounds better than he was before.
