Anthony Bourdain Commits Suicide

Why do I feel this thread just fell like a house of cards? :dunno:

I was shopping at a Mexican grocery and getting an asada torta when I saw something about him on Telemundo and I couldn't figure out what they were talking about in their Pig Latin but now that I've seen the news, it doesn't surprise me.
Suicide may be an epidemic but what's the root of the problem? Weak-ass people who are too cowardly to face their problems like adults. It's a permanent solution to temporary problems (At least that's what I'd tell potential jumpers, anyway. At least that would give us enough time to haul them back over the ledge and send them to the hospital for a psych eval). Suicide inevitably inconveniences loved ones, first responders, innocent bystanders and the general public. It causes undue duress to the survivors and leaves a gaping hole where that person's presence is missing. It's a selfish act that erases God's greatest gift to us.
That Asia Argento was his girlfriend infuriates me more than the suicide and I think so very little of her for her association with him.

I wasn't going to comment because it is a waste of time. But I will. Depression is a terrible thing. It is described as a mental illness. As you all should know Val Kilmer was a very close friend of Anthony Bourdain. That said, I'll agree with Val Kilmer's assessment on Anthony Bourdain's suicide. It was a very selfish thing for Bourdain to do. He leaves behind two wives, a daughter, and friends who all loved him.
He may not have been an alcoholic. Because the person has to admit that he or she is powerless over it, and that life has become unmanageable. So that may, in fact, been the case that he didn't have a problem with alcohol. But he was a drug addict. You even say it. It all goes hand in hand.

Bourdain came out against Weinstein because his old lady Argento came out in the Metoo movement I believe against Weinstein. He even wrote a piece on his Twitter about her courage doing so...

Apparently he was in France shooting an episode and Eric Ripert was the one who found him unresponsive. His suicide comes after Kate Spade's suicide and just a day after the CDC released a report saying that suicide rates are up 25% since 1999.
I've contemplated suicide before. It might have looked like I was happy and but deep down I was not. I was in a dark place. But how would anyone know that? They didn't because I chose to wall myself off and not talk to anyone. I never sought help. Eventually I was able to get the help that I needed. I think part of the reason why I waited so long was because of the stigma of mental illness particularly in the hispanic and black community. God forbid if you were to talk about your feelings because then you'd be a "pussy". Anyways I don't want to ramble but I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you see someone who is not doing ok, simply reach out to them. Just letting them know that you care about them and that you're here for them would be so helpful
