Well whatever happens happens.

As for me I took one more shopping spree in the MyFreeones Points galleries section.

Picked some galleries I had my eye, now I'm down to 63 points.

The shit gets reset to 0 cool with me baby!

THFCMAD was a terrible person before he started his shit.

He`s a Tottenham fan afterall :D

Nice way to give yourself away of been a former member under a different name

After all he was de-mod as I came to the board. Which is over 2 years before your join date ;)

I'm afraid it's the truth :( We're (Admins/programmers) currently working very hard to make it happen. :crash: Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

We're working on an alternative solution to the problem, in which we don't have to reset the rep points. However, given the time available it's more than likely that we'll have to reset the points in order for the changes to go through.

What you mean the mad plan to link it to MyFreeOnes which isn't fair to the members?

Yeah, we all read what you wrote the first two times you posted it. ;) We know it was all started as a joke, and there are a load of old members that you want to tell us about. Great, thanks. Very informative. My life is enriched as a result.

There has been and never will be a fair system to rep points on any board. So to make it worth something is a big mistake.

If you read my post, you'll see that I also think the entire rep points could be removed, but merely suggest some ideas which might make the system fairer and more fun. Just because a system can never be perfected, does not mean it cannot be improved. :)

I wasn't saying you shouldn't ask Petra questions, but some of the reactions in this thread are a little over the top for something so trivial. She's already said she and the Freeones crew are taking into consideration your comments and that nothing is set in stone yet.

It's your rep points, not your civil liberties at stake.

That's pretty bog. I've made over 200 posts to earn my 45 points...now I have to start all over again.

I like to give props to posters with stimulating topics and threads, other than that, its just another day at Freeones.

I guess I'm just confused by the whole thing- what harm has the rep system been causing? What harm have the myfreeones points been causing? If the problem is that rep is linked to myfreeones points, then sever that link, so that you just get the points the way it was before- by posting.

Sorry if you actually think people are forcing you to actually rep people if you go into them threads

If you bother to read the posts they all say something different. But then again you think your ideas will actually work. Why do you think they've never been implemented before? As I said they aren't new!

I'm also peeved at this 5x per day rep limit!!! I understand the need to limit rep. Apparently, there are board members who ignore everything else on the board and spend 24/7 trading rep back and forth to inflate their numbers. But 5x a day is almost useless. I'm subscribed to about 200 threads. There's almost always more than 5 posts a day that truly, honestly deserve rep (in my opinion). Maybe 20x per day would be a little more realistic limit. 5x means a lot of people who really deserve a rep shout-out get shut out.

I simply refuse to believe that a happy medium can't be found between 24/7 rep whore games and no rep or a useless rep point system. I know some people don't care about rep points...those people don't have to participate in the slightest, It affects them not in the least if there are rep points or not. It just shouldn't be this hard.

Forget rep points, I feel like I'm losing IQ points simply participating in this thread, so I'll just say:

Thanks for your input in the thread, even if it's been entirely negative. I'm sure the Freeones staff will take everyone's views into consideration.

Been watchin' this thread for a couple days now, I guess I'm missing something. Don't know much about MyFreeones points, but I always thought of this board being about people, as a community of unknown friends not "rep points". We've gone through this before. Hey no biggie!

Please tell me if I am indeed missing something. :hatsoff:

Conspiracy...
I think this place would suffer without the Rep system. Rep is useful when someone makes a great point that I don't feel the need to create a response and eat up space. I think it's valuable to rep someone and tell them what or why you liked it. Otherwise threads will become gigantic mass response vessels and we'll have to sift through pages and pages of "Nice post" responses...:(

I like the rep comments too. ;)

Those need to stay.

But...can we continue to comment on posts that we like?

Yes it's called the PM system

I mean what do you do if you like a post but are unable to rep them for it. You PM them. All you have to do is link them to the post you are thanking them for.

vBulletin has many different systems of leaving a thanks for a post. You can even add a thanks button. Which means if you press it, your username shows up in a box below the post to show you thanked them. A few boards use this to stop members putting up just "thanks" posts all over the board.

I'm not negative towards the rep system. Just watched go from a fun thing to a contest to what could be a mistake. I mean trying to put a meaning to it like most are on this thread just proves it's died totally from it's original plan and purpose "fun". As it does on all boards really.

It's quicker to use the rep button than to PM someone every time.

I'm waaaay to lazy to do ^^this^^ It seems to me that PM is for questioning somebody about something they posted or initiating a discussion about something.

If I really like something said by somebody but have tapped out my rep for the day :)mad:) then I'll just wait around to rep that person again later...great posters usually offer up lots of things to rep them for. Or, I'll just quote them in a reply and say:thumbsup: "nice job". Much easier.
