I definitely feel like the whole Marshall name became over-saturated and over-rated. It really watered down the legend when they flooded the market with cheap solid state amps and outsourced a lot of the manufacturing to third world countries. These days, you can definitely get more bang for your buck, both tone-wise and gain-wise from other amps. But back in the day, there was nothing that could match a Marshall.

Edit. I'm pretty sure he plays Vox, but Marshall pays them to 'show' their amps during concerts.
