THE group of my youth.
Seen them live 2 times, once @ the old Capitol theater in Passaic w/ Public Enemy and once @ the old Tradewinds club in Sea Bright NJ.
I dressed like them and even drank Brass Monkey constantly even though it tasted like Patchouli oil.
They had a big tribute to them this afternoon on Hot 97 here in NY and they NEVER played them.
Rest in peace Yauch and thanx for the great music.

Man, the crazy thing was, I was actually listening to that Throwback @ Noon mix while I was on the road, not even a few minutes after Mister Cee wrapped up did the news drop...Just sat there in shock...

As much as I tried to hate The Beastie Boys because of the riffs they "stole" from Led Zeppelin as a "metalhead" teenager....I just couldn't...and can't.

I later learned to appreciate and enjoy their greatness.

^^^^ probably my favorite BB tune of all-time!!! I swear when I was growing up I felt like I knew these cats!! RIP too Mr. Adam Yauch aka MCA I was such a huge fan of the Beastie Boys.. I think I actually wore out 2 of the old cassette tapes of "Licensed to Ill" by just listening to them to much. :surprise: cancer has got too be wiped out!!! :cussing:
