That's exactly it. It's fine and dandy to get in a debate, disagree with each other, maybe someone insults another person. What is looked down upon and will result in a ban is if a member goes to an OCSM constantly harassing her, calling her names, insulting her, borderline stalking her, starting nonsense drama with her out of nowhere. For example, if someone didn't like me and came to my babe section leaving nasty comments, sending me PMs out of nowhere with nasty comments, and trolled my threads with nasty comments, they'd get banned. If someone came to me to have a discussion about something and we both simple disagreed on a topic, that's not grounds for banning. There's a difference.

People just need to use their brains.

My point is that, unlike what HHJJ is saying, that the regular people on the board don't count, and only the OCSM's count, without us "regular" people, behaving like desperate sycophants and clingers on, to whom would you advertise? We are worth some respect as well, yet I have every confidence that this "new rules era" will definitely be taken advantage of. It is just human nature. Did ever cross anybody's mind that respect should be due to everybody who deserves it? When i see a FO member being disrespected, i find it as appalling as when i see an OCSM being disrespected. If we stopped thinking by categories, maybe this thread and others (racism, immoral pornstars etc) would have died a while ago, already. There shouldn't be a written rule for protecting this or that side of the board. There should be reciprocal common sense and when this comes less, there should be mods that take action accordingly, if a post/thread is reported for the right reasons. All these written rules remind me of kindergarten. Respect can be learnt and can be earned, you know. It's not a gift from either side. There are both ppl and OCSMs who are never made object of disrespect in this forums and i don't think that they are particularly lucky beings.

I know what the new rules say, I read them! I have also been around, I know what the actual practice will be! You have seen it yourself in the rusults of the Miss FO contest! These admin are not going to raise a finger against an OCSM, to correct them or be punitive in any measure. They are terrified of losing OCSM's, because the forum might stop if the OCSM's leave. I have already seen this behavior in the last three months. I have absolutely no doubt that it will not only continue, but escalate.

It's a balance thing; The Ying of the OCSMs need the Yang of the members.

Actually there is an OCSM that I'm surprised is still allowed to be on here the way she attacks people verbally. Maybe her Herpes flared up and her period started at the same time, that would make most girls grumpy I would think. I guess she's punished enough then.

I don't know if you two are thinking of the same one I'm thinking of, but there definitely is one OCSM who has reached the point of needing a straitjacket and needing to be banned. So I'm shocked that while regular members are starting to get warned to abide by the OCSM Protection Act, she's allowed to obliterate it.

Well, it's kind of obvious... there's really only the one person it could be.

We've definitely gotten reports about OCSMs, including a few about the one in question. However, that is something for the administrators to handle, not us.
