Is it too early to be chirping about the Mets? The answer is yes, it's always too early to chirp about the Mets. Still it's nice to see good things.

Is it my imagination or are tempers short already this year. Baltimore has thrown behind Bautista twice this year & both times he responded with home runs. KC/Oakland.

Another Royal brawl. I **** the White Sox too so I don't give a **** let them tear eachothers eyes out.

How long before someone pulls a Trot Nixon and "accidentally" loses the bat and it flies out toward the Royals' Ventura. That clown is going to get pummeled soon. He starting barking at Mike Trout. Idiot.

IDK but no way that team makes it out of this season alive, everyones is gonna go after them.

This is sad-Jim Fanning died today

He worked for the Expos for years as manager, GM, broadcaster. He then worked for the Jays for years as Ambassador to Baseball in Canada. He played a huge part in the growth of baseball in Canada at the grass roots level. In a weird twist, tonight in Tampa the Jays started 3 Canadians. The first time ever 3 Canadian position players have started a game for the same team. Pitcher Jeff Francis of the Jays was in the dugout. Jim would have been looking down watching his boys with tremendous pride. The Canadian players in MLB, colleges, minors might not be there without your hard work and dedication. :hatsoff: Jim and thank you from a 50 year baseball fan.

Adam Wainwright's injury (sorry Jagger) has brought the DH debate up again Premium Link Upgrade

Personally, I **** the DH. I like the strategy in the NL, the bench is more involved, I like double switches, I love seeing the odd time a pitcher hits a HR. I guess with inter-league play everyday now, eventually the NL will adopt the DH.

Thoughts???

I'm in a foul sports mood anyway (thanks to the St. Louis Blues!!!!) so anyone who uses something like this to justify the DH is just fucking wrong. Waino could have snapped his Achilles pitching, hitting or walking into the fucking clubhouse for crissakes so stop already with this "the DH would have prevented this" bullshit. The fact that it happened when he was batting was coincidental, not in and of itself the cause. Fuck the DH!!

I am an AL guy, and used to believe the DH was an advantage for the league. What I have seen instead is NL teams have a more solid 25-man roster. Most AL teams have a decent top 9, including the DH, and not have much on the bench to provide a late-inning impact. Plus, NL managers have that old-school mentality all year that benefits them in the World Series.

The injury to Waino is just devastating. We were rolling damn it. :(

Yes indeed. Mo has a big decision to make. We can try to limp along with Lyons or someone similar until Gonzalez or Garcia are ready to go and see if one of them can be the answer or we can go out and land a big name guy like Hamels. Personally, I'd rather wait and see what we can get out of the guys we have before selling the **** for a guy like Hamels. Besides, rumor has it that the Phillies want Martinez as part of any deal for Hamels and Mo's not going to do that. Let's see what happens....we've got options if things don't work out.

Phil Rogers of MLB.com thinks John Danks would be a good fit. Doesn't really get me all dreamy-eyed but the guy is a lefty who could eat up some serious innings and undoubtedly would not have the same price tag as Cole Hamels. With Rodon ready to pitch in the bigs for the Sox, Danks would seem to be expendable so....hey, who knows?

Dodgers loose Brandon McCarthy to TJ and the Yankees loose M.Tanaka to wrist and forearm injury's he's out till June. Astros SS Jed Lowrie out till all star break thumb injury

Boston's rotation looks like crap maybe they need an ace

the Cardinals should not trade for anyone yet they have some good young **** who should be able to fill in

Man, they're dropping like flies this year. Maybe the steroid era wasn't so bad after all?? ;)

I agree....Redbirds should wait.

I agree with the wait and see approach however I have zero confidence in Garcia staying healthy he will be injured after about 4 starts.

Yes that has been his history for sure. My inkling is that we'll get some innings from Garcia before he injures his shoulder again and that Gonzalez will be the guy to step up and fill in as a 5th starter after that. Problem is, Gonzo has never pitched 200-plus innings like Waino regularly does so we may need to go out and get a veteran to provide that role for us at some point.

I'm loving what I'm seeing with the Rays. I'm a Joe Maddon fan and wish he were still here instead of with that shitty never-gonna-win team. But this is a solid team with great pitching and playing fundamentally sound baseball.

I'm a regular at the Trop and have the Rays gameday app on my phone :)

Go Rays!

Next time the Jays are in Tampa to get their asses kicked, I'll look for you in the crowd. The Rays do have a good team & so far, Kevin Cash has done a great job.
