Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
I'm loving what I'm seeing with the Rays. I'm a Joe Maddon fan and wish he were still here instead of with that shitty never-gonna-win team. But this is a solid team with great pitching and playing fundamentally sound baseball.

I'm a regular at the Trop and have the Rays gameday app on my phone :)

Go Rays!

They let you take that hammer-rounded pistol in there with you? :dunno: ;) If so, maybe they were distracted just a bit. You truly are a very beautiful woman.

Oh....the Trop is by far the worst facility in MLB IMO.

Yeah, they can win all they want...after this weekend, of course. ;)

of course I don't take my gun into the game lol

and the Trop is NOT the worst baseball stadium. the blue jays stadium is the worst in my opinion.

Actually, I like Skydome (or Rogers Center or whatever the hell they call it now). Trop is way worse IMO but after thinking about it, one stadium in MLB shares the unique distinction of being both the worst and the best (for way different reasons)....Wrigley Field. Anyway, matter of personal perspective so....:dunno:

Second straight walk-off win by the Redbirds today! The Pirates stranded 18 runners and lost 2-1 in 11 innings on a Matt Carpenter sac fly that scored Pete Kozma and wasted a magnificent pitching effort by lefty Francisco Liriano, who allowed only 3 hits and no runs in 8 innings. Cardinals go for the sweep tomorrow!

next pitcher down Reds starter Homer Bailey out till sometime in 2016 TJ surgery

who would have thought the Astros would be in first and riding a 9 game winning streak, certainly not me

Nor anyone else, Red. I must say it's nice to see the Stros getting some home-town love after years of being a laughing stock. It appears that their young pitching rotation is coming of age and they have been hitting the shit out of the ball. A team on a rapid rise....Jeff Luhnow's patient approach seems to be paying dividends....at least right now. Long way to go.

Get out the :sweep:!!! Three consecutive extra-inning walk-off wins for the Redbirds....today on a solo homer by Kolten Wong in the bottom of the 14th. This has to be extremely demoralizing for Pittsburgh . What a start to the season despite the season-ending injury to Wainwright. We're 18-6 and have a 4.5 game lead over the second place Cubs. The Bucs slide to a tie with the Reds for 3rd at 6.5 GB. Gonzalez and Garcia are both almost ready to return to the rotation for what is already the best in baseball (according to stats). Cubs are up next at Busch for a 3-game series starting tomorrow.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
At the end of last season, the Astros were a tough team to play. they have a solid line-up, but is very young. If the pitching continues to stay solid and go deep, they maybe within reach of a wild card spot.

It was so nice seeing the Mets get off to that great start. Oh how much I wanted to see rainbows shining from their asses but if you want to call yourself a Met fan, you've got to live in reality. Back to back 1-0 losses at home confirmed that.

It's a long season, Bob. Still plenty of time for the Mets to establish themselves....or not.

BTW, so nice to see nobody making a fuss over A-Roid hitting his 660th career home run to tie him with the immortal Willie Mays for 5th place on the all-time home run list. Personally, I think the dude should be banned from the game but I obviously don't make the rules so his bogus achievement will stand right there next to the "Say-hey" kid. What a disgrace. Until MLB weeds out all of the steroid cheaters from the equation, baseball will forever be tainted. It still literally makes me sick that Barry Bonds is considered the all-time home run king instead of Hank Aaron. Fuck all these cheaters....their records should always have an asterisk next to them that denotes "Attained under the effect of performance-enhancing drugs". A-Roid couldn't hold Willie's jock strap IMO.

100% totally unequivocally agree.

Dodgers are 16 and 8 despite a patchwork starting staff that has seen them use 9 (or possibly 10?) different starting pitchers. Of course they've only played 3 games out of their division thus far, and none east of Phoenix. That kind of success isn't going to last if they don't aggressively address the situation.
Crawford and Puig are on the DL, as well. Crawford's a great natural athlete, but his undercarriage has about had it, it appears.
One major positive is that their young center fielder Joc Pederson is looking like the real deal.

A-Rod isn't getting his Willie Mays bonus. That's $6M. As much as I hate the Yanks, I'm glad they gave him that fuck you.

So, the Mets are going to make me cry as they head into June.

...but can we talk about that 4th inning in last night's game. That was something. the deGrominator got two hits in one inning!

well the A's certainly did not expect this lack of performance, the whole team has looked putrid.

BTW the Marlins fired their manager after starting 16-22

Dodgers fail to score in three straight games in San Francisco :1orglaugh

It doesn't get much uglier than that.

For the year they're now 0 and 6 and have scored a grand total of 6 runs in 54 innings at AT&T Park :flaccid:

Ryu out for the season with shoulder surgery having made zero starts (why in the hell weren't they better prepared for this distinct possibility going in? wishful thinking?)

The bloom is definitely off the rose.

It's only May 21st, and for the moment they're still leading their division...but I've already seen enough to feel certain this will be the 27th straight season they will fail to make it to the World Series :brick:

Are people calling for Mattingly's head?

BCT

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
The Giants pitching is just too good, I don't see the Dodgers ever getting over on that franchise. Sabean has built a force in the Bay, I know cause they own my Cards too. :(

There was a LOT of that the first two months of the 2013 season. But then the team went on an incredible roll and won the division pretty easily.
Some again after a slow start last season, and again after the playoff series vs the Cards. Not too much this year so far thanks to the fast start...but if the new GM isn't able to shore up this starting staff Mattingly might end up taking the fall for another disappointing finish.

Dodgers starting staff was actually very slightly better than theirs (imo) last year, until Beckett's career ending injury. But definitely not this year.

Kinda off subject......where to u go to purchase MLB tickets? I do not like those who charge a service fee or postage. Stubhub seems fair.
