The Giants pitching is just too good, I don't see the Dodgers ever getting over on that franchise. Sabean has built a force in the Bay, I know cause they own my Cards too. :(

I honestly think that Tim Hudson is going to DFAed soon. Time to bring up Kyle Crick. Wait for Jake Peavy and Matt Cain to come back from off the DL or go out on the waiver wire and pick up Dillon Gee.

This should be a big test come this weekend. Giants and Dodgers in Los Angeles. :D

The big guns for the Dodgers aren't pitching. Clayton Kershaw lost last night (against Texas) and Zack Greinke is pitching tonight in the finale. Best game will be on Friday. Our no-hit guy, Chris Heston vs. Michael Bolsinger. Bolsinger with overall (2.25 ERA) has been dominating at home (1.10 ERA) on the road, good but not dominating (3.80 ERA)

We haven't faced Zack Greinke this season.

Remember the Dodgers are 0-6 against Giants in AT & T Park. At Chavez Ravine, Dodgers are 2-1. However no Yasiel Puig in any of those games, home or away.

No Hunter Pence in this series for Giants either. I hope Matt Duffy starts all three this weekend at third base with Casey McGehee being relegated to the bench.

Surprised no one giving me grief over the Cardinals FBI investigation over allegedly hacking into the Astros' databases. I'll be really disappointed if higher-ups in the front office were sanctioning this....those responsible should be fired and prosecuted if it turns out laws were violated. Anxiously awaiting the results of the investigation. Whoever did this....this AIN'T the Cardinal way as far as I am concerned. Inexcusable if it was accepted as protocol.

Say it ain't so. Mo!!!

I think we all felt too embarrassed for you to speak up.

jk ;)

Yep. Pretty disillusioning :(

Hoping along with you that higher-ups in the front office weren't sanctioning this. Wondering if we'll ever know for sure.

Still trying to figure out what the Red Sox master plan is. When Buchholz is your #1, you are in trouble.

Regardless of what is up with this FBI thing, the guys on the field seem undeterred. This team is a machine.....they always seem to find a way to win. The pitching has been off the charts. Our record at home is 29-7 and we are 27 games over .500 before the 4th of July. Have won six games straight and dinning at a 68% pace....unheard of! Nine games ahead of second-place Pittsburgh who has the second-best record in the league. I'm just dumbfounded. When Wainwright went down in the pre-season, everyone was ready to throw in the towel. Our young players and pitchers have risen to the occasion and then some. Regular-season record doesn't mean shit so I'm not celebrating....I am just in awe of what this team is doing so far this year. Don't wake me if I'm dreaming!

Regardless of what some did in management, and how high up it goes, the Cardinals have built a farm system second to none. The organization's philosophy is taught from Day One. It shows. They epitomize "next man up."

yeah the Cardinals have a great system and they rarely seem to miss on a draft pick or trade. i would not be surprised to see them avoid the summer blahs

Only half way home, but if the season ended today the NL Cy Young Award winner would have to be Zack Greinke, yes?

Me either, Red

Half way mark of the season. Any surprises? I'm surprised Houston is hanging in-I was thinking they would do this next year. Minnesota has surprised me too. I was expecting more out of the Mariners & White Sox. The Cards just keep rolling.

Chris Sale went to college down the street from me. What he is doing is Cy Young-worthy. Love watching him pitch. If he could get some run support, there would be little doubt who the best pitcher in the AL is

Yeah the Mariners were supposed to be big time contenders.
I'm surprised San Diego is so bad. They sure made a dedicated effort not to be. But then Kemp's been a bust and their starting pitching (other than Shields) hasn't been as sharp as last year. Not sure why they fired Bud Black other than as a scrapegoat for great expectations unmet my others :dunno:

Yep. I'm a little surprised the Pirates are as close to the Cards as they are considering the shitty start (it seems like the Pirates always get off to a slow start) they got off too.

Agreed.

San Diego has had some injuries as well, but the Will Myers trade definitely looks bad for them.
Houston may not falter as everyone else in the division has issues and Houston can make trades from a deep farm system
i'm surprised that Boston's pitching has been so bad

Not sure what Houston needs to add, other than maybe a starting pitcher. They are a team that strikes out too much to win deep in the playoffs. They have good young talent but it is raw in a lot of ways. Getting a veteran bat might be a stop-gap measure, but I don't think it will help.

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
I think Minny is going to steal the division away from KC, when the Twins are decent they have a lot of luck on their side, however they will be one and done in the plaoffs like they always are.

Good job! You jinxed them, 2-4 at home!
