There's the classy programs like Florida and Alabama, and then there's the scum like Auburn and LSU.

Classy programs don't get put on probation like Bama was and has been multiple times. Scum runs very deep and thick at that college too.

Here's my top 10 preseason list for next year:

1) Texas
2) Miami (FL)
3) Missouri
4) Oklahoma
5) Oklahoma State
6) Texas Tech
7) Baylor
8) Kansas State
9) Kansas
10) Iowa State

Mine means as much right now as any of them! :D

So....assuming the U sucks so now FSU is your sexy ACC team to root for, t-rock? Aside from your never-ending undying love for USC....are you just a college football whore? Not trying to be an asshole (well....maybe just a little bit :1orglaugh) but how can you change loyalties so easily?

No harm, no foul, no offense taken. It would be pathetic if I couldn't take ribbing with all the shit I dish out around here.

I am a complex fan. That's my answer. My fan story is not very interesting to read, but USC is #1 and I like the Canes and FSU because of all the great games in the 90s/2000s. So many great memories of watching those two programs just dominate. I remember when USC went to Tally and got creamed by the Noles and when the Noles came to LA, they hung on for a close win over SC. If ever the two meet up--naturally it's buhbye Spear and Hello Sword! Same for if ever SC meets The U.

I guess I've developed a fan/fondness for certain teams: Boise State, I would say Michigan over Ohio State, hate all SEC except LSU and Georgia, hate Nebraska more than Oklahoma, hate notre dame always, like BC because they beat notre dame!, hate ucla always...never root for the Scum devils, cal or stanfurf even if their successes would help USC out somehow. Like UDub not Wazzu....hate BYU always...hate Army like Navy...hate Rutgers...

I think that's why I frown upon the SEC and their fanbase so much. They're so willing to whore themselves out for their fellow conference members. It's ludicrous to me. You (presumably) would NEVER ROOT FOR A&M under ANY circumstance (notice the 1 team you left out of your list ) , but, we've got Gator fans pulling for Bama and Tennessee, Bama fans pulling for every SEC team...it really blows my mind

Like I said. I'm complex... :o

No alterior motive whatsoever.

College sports are different from pro. You should be allowed to have multiple teams cuz you can have connections to multiple schools, so long as you have a clear cut favorite. I root for Michigan State, UCLA, Arizona State, and Fresno State, but there is no doubt that Florida comes first. Btw you'll never catch me rooting for Alabama and Tennessee. They can suck my dick. And having a preference in particular rivalries, there's nothing wrong with that, nor having a preferred team in each conference. Now rooting for Miami and Florida State, I must admit, is a bit troubling lol.

^^^^

Totally agree.

I'm originally from Oklahoma and Colorado, so I'm always going to root for Big XII teams.

But now I live in Florida, so I like root for Florida teams too (Miami, Florida, Florida State etc...).

Not all... I do NOT pull for Bama's rivals (UT, AU, or LSU). And when these teams play each other, I pray for stadium implosion. :)

It's getting close to signing day, here's the current Rivals top 10 recruiting classes... Update to follow once the kids sign the LOIs.

#1 Texas
#2 Alabama
#3 Florida State
#4 LSU
#5 USC
#6 Oklahoma
#7 Ohio State
#8 Oregon
#9 Clemson
#10 California

Wow. Some of the bottom 25 are really surprising.

And I'll go on record again saying that there is no doubt that Notre Dame belongs in the top few on the list of good guys. They work really hard to make sure their athletes are working academically, and that rubs off on the athletes, and motivates them to finish their degrees.

They also work really hard to protect rapists who play football and let a student die because of their negligence.

Damn, my Sooners only have 17 commitments. Are we on scholarship probation too?

I think it is just because they have almost everyone coming back.

Oklahoma does not have to throw out scholarships to kids that are not BCS caliber. Better to save a scholarship for 4 or 5 star talent next year than to give it to a 2 or 3 that you would have to stay committed to for 4 years……………..unless you are Les Miles, then you ell those kids that they are "unscholarshiped".

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I think there's a certain limit to how many scholarship athletes you can have on a team. I think OU signed close to 30 players last year. And yes, we did return a lot, so I think that contributed too.

Yep, 25 per year, 85 total. OU should be very good this season, lots of talent coming back on both sides of the ball.

Yes, they do. I've never been the kind of person who roots against a team no matter who they're playing, but Notre Dame changed that. I now hope they lose every game and receive the football death penalty. I truly hate them.
Yes, there is a limit. I was also referring how LSU has become notorious for "over signing."]

I can't remember when the limit was introduced, the 1920's, 30's or 40's, but I do remember it was put in place when Tennessee decided to give out more than 100 scholarships in a single year.

FYI, there are 3 colleges which are exempt on the number of scholarships they can give out. Army, Navy and Air Force.

It's about damn time somebody exhibited a bit of objectivity in their pre-season poll. I tip my cap to you, good sir :hatsoff:

If Neuweasal can't out recruit the ever-disappointing Jeff Tedford he's in more trouble than I thought.

Seems to me it would have been wise not to have all the ??? surrounding Norm Chow at this critical juncture. One would think having Chow definitively in place as the OC would still be a strong selling point, despite the fact the team has sputtered the last two years due to a talent vacuum at the QB position.

For the first time in a long time, none of them Buckeyes. Even the 5 suspended for the first 5 games next year all came back...........I was shocked.

I suspect those suspensions will be reduced. Five games was excessive. At most, they shouldn't have to sit out any more than three games.
