If you truly believe that, then you don't know your history. In the past, the BCS system has been manipulated by voters and coaches and it can be again. This is why they now have the rule where how the voters and coaches vote is made public. I'm not saying it's gonna happen, only that it can happen, and believing that it's impossible is either naive or delusional. As I said earlier, the best thing that can happen for the BCS is for the Sooners to beat the Cowboys, but as we've seen this year, upsets can happen.

i agree no way can this come out fair for lsu...but (according to they little fucked up system) you gotta put bama 2...heres the deal..bama fans riot if they dont play for the nc...lsu fans may riot if bama wins...both having a right....play off would take away anything that could happen here...even tho (and yes yummi and yes conner) we do have a spot in new orleans..(just trust me on this one)..i would give that up tommorow for a playoff so we dont see no tears from houston, okie st, boise, or lsu playoffs would dry all tears i think its time the fans stop crying and lockouT!!!!!..as a bama fan i am sick of the shit..i knoW other fans are

You, Jagger and I'm sure a few others just have blinders on. You refuse to accept the possibility that Bama could get should shut out. Yes, I agree that Bama is more deserving than Okie State, even if/when they crush the Sooners, but what you also refuse to accept is that most of the country has a hatred for anything SEC. If, by some miracle, the Cowboys get the job done, Bama's ticket to the title is not set in stone, it's up to the BCS, which could be manipulated by the voters/coaches. I still don't think the Cowboys can beat the Sooners, but if they do, everyone will just have to wait until the final poll to see who plays LSU.

Am I missing something? Did they change the rule that only allows two teams from each conf in bcs bowl? If Georgia wins they are the sec champs so they would be in a bcs game. Either Alabama or Lsu would be out.

Look dude, just stop it, OK? You have already called me ignorant, naive and delusional even though I never made the claim that it is not possible that OSU overtakes Alabama in the final BCS poll. Of course it is possible. So is me winning the lottery.

Unless you can show me where I dismissed your suggested outcome as being impossible, please stop putting words in my mouth. My post stated that it wasn't going to happen, not that it was impossible. Capiche??

So can you tell my why you think it is not possible that OSU overtakes Alabama in the final BCS poll?

has anyone seen the bowl projections as of today (this week) if LSU and BAMA play again?
Outside of the NC game, the rest of the matchups are all shit

Agreed, a lot of bad matchups this year for bowl season. Sucks.

And just my $.02, the only change OSU has of jumping Alabama is to blow out OU, and I just don't see that happening.

And I also read that the BCS gurus say that even if LSU loses to UGA, they would not drop past #2 and would still play for the BCS Championship.

MILF Man

Milf Man, do you need everything literally spelled out for you? Everybody wants to play for the National Championship, as if you asked every single team in the country would you rather play for a National Championship or would you rather play in a bowl game not for a National Championship, EVERYONE WOULD WANT to play for a National Championship. Maybe your the one not too in touch with reality because in case you didn't get the memo, only 2 teams GET to play for it. Obviously you don't know how this works because Utah finished that regular season as the #6 ranked team in the country. If you honestly think anyone on this planet including that team expected to be in the BCS title game you're as big a moron as the last sentence of your post lets on that you are, which is why morons like you go on the ignore list:thefinger

I know everyone wants to play for a National Championship. You are the one who's jumping back and forth. How do you know what Utah really thought? Are you a mind reader? You sound like a moron. Maybe your the one that should be on the ignore list cause your the one that keeps jumping back and forth making ridiculous statements about things you have no idea about. Utah wanted to be in the Sugar Bowl that year but UA didn't? Utah knew they would not play for a National Championship? That thinking is completely asinine.

Utah was the better team and beat UA's ass, plain and simple. Utah would have rather been playing for a National Championship instead of playing UA in the Sugar Bowl.

Southern Mississippi at Houston (Conference USA Championship) Who did you expect me to pick?
West Virginia at South Florida
Texas at Baylor
UNLV at TCU
Wisconsin vs. Michigan State
(Big 10 Championship at Indianapolis, IN)
Oklahoma at Oklahoma State
UCLA at Oregon
(Pac 12 Championship) Laugher of the Week
New Mexico at Boise State
Virginia Tech vs. Clemson
(ACC Championship at Charlotte, NC) Clemson fading fast.
LSU vs. Georgia (SEC Championship at Atlanta, GA):
Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos.

Am I missing something? Did they change the rule that only allows two teams from each conf in bcs bowl? If Georgia wins they are the sec champs so they would be in a bcs game. Either Alabama or Lsu would be out.
There was some discussion about this on one of the ESPN shows and how it was possible that 3 teams could go. It didn't make any sense to me, so I just turned it off.

First, I never called you or anyone else, ignorant. In fact, not a single one of my posts in this thread even contains the word ignorant, so you don't need to try and put words in my mouth.

Second, the fact that you stated, It's not gonna happen, is essentially saying that it's impossible.

The point I'm trying to make is this: Bama fans need to postpone their celebration until after the Sooners win, or, if the Cowboys get the upset, wait until the final BCS poll is released and it shows Bama as #2.

You said I didn't know my history. According to the dictionary, ignorance is defined as "lack of knowledge or information". If you weren't implying that I was ignorant, please give me another word for it.

Second, the fact that you stated, It's not gonna happen, is essentially saying that it's impossible.

Really? Turning your own words in the prior paragraph against you, where did I use the word "impossible"? I never even made an implied reference to the possibility that your scenario describes....I made a statement as to what was going to happen from my perspective. It's no different than a statement you made in a prior post:

....if Bama did play Houston, and there was something worth playing for, they would beat Houston.

Are you therefore stating that it is impossible for Houston to beat Alabama? Or, are you simply stating that you consider it to be an extremely secure outcome that Alabama would prevail? My guess is that this is what you meant. If not, you don't know your history. And if you truly believe it, you are being naive and delusional. Which way is it, Connor?

The point I'm trying to make is this: Bama fans need to postpone their celebration until after the Sooners win, or, if the Cowboys get the upset, wait until the final BCS poll is released and it shows Bama as #2.

Amen brother. I totally agree with this statement. It's really all you needed to say. Your condescending attitude toward me and others in this thread was totally unnecessary in order to make this point.

The interesting thing about all of this is that Bama is actually in the best position than any team. The best scenario for OSU is for LSU to lose big time to Georgia (at least 4 TDs), and LSU drops to #3 in the polls. OSU will also have to have any impressive victory over OU as well.

If LSU and OSU wins, well, it's an all SEC national title.

Just an observation, there is a very large gap in the BCS standings between #2 and #3... IF OSU pounds OU (unlikely IMHO), they MAY be able to make up some ground on Bama. If LSU loses, I don't see them losing enough points to fall past #2.

It will be interesting, and of course I'm pulling for LSU and OU this weekend... I'd like to see the two best teams play for the MNC, and I really do believe it's Bama and LSU.

I don't either.

Apparently so. Too bad there isn't a playoff so they could prove it beyond any doubt. Instead, we get a glorified SEC championship game that proves either LSU can beat Alabama twice or it proves that the 2 teams are even. What drama!

Try reading it again and focus on the first word.

And you think your attitude wasn't condescending?

I'm done with this discussion. No more speculation, I'll just wait until after the Sooner/Cowboy game/final BCS poll to see what is instead of what may.

Wow. Your reply makes absolutely no sense. How is it possible to misread a direct quote? :dunno:

I do agree with one thing you said....discussion over. I've certainly got better things on which to waste my time.
