Joannie Rochette is making Canada proud tonite. I truly hope that she can settle down and be able to work through her loss and find peace in knowing that she brought home a medal. Her mom would have been so so proud of her.

We're already getting attacked...by Mexico!

But Mexico is like... our gardener. What is he doing? Is he stealing your patio lights?

I wonder if the powers that be have decided on who will carry the Canadian flag at the closing ceremony. At first, I thought that Bilodeau should have the honour, but given what an inspiration she has been and how proud she has made the country, I believe Rochette is the only choice. She's earned it.

I whole-heartedly agree. Bilodeau was the first gold on Canadian soil, but I mean, quite honestly that was just pure luck. Had his event been scheduled on any other day, that title of being first to win gold on home turf would have gone to anyone else. Rochette has shown grace and courage when anyone else would have been crumbling- to put her grief aside and go out to compete in front of the whole world watching is nothing short of inspirational. Bilodeau had a great run, and he deserves his medal, but Rochette is a true Olympic hero. She's clearly been through hell, and to go ahead to win for her country is just plain honorable. She's done her country, and her mothers memory proud.

The one and only.
If this was a boxing match, they would have stopped it by now! Stay down, Finland! Stay down!

Get ready Canada, we're comin' for you. Be afraid, be very afraid...

Wow....throw in the towel, Finland. We're crushing them....

No offense meant to all you Slovak fans but I sure am looking forward to a USA-Canada gold medal game on Sunday!

Wow, to quote sentiments posted here about an earlier game, who paid Finland to play like that?

The first half wasn't that USA was so amazing - they were good and all, no doubt about that - but the Fins just sucked ass like crazy. That was some of the worst defence AND offence I've ever seen at this level of hockey.

Hope Canada can get their shit together.

Joannie Rochette wins a bronze medal in women's figure skating. After what she has gone through, I am extemely happy for her and very proud of her, too. She made Canada proud tonight. v:thumbsup:

She made HUMANITY proud. The courage and spirit she showed transcends nations. Some American stars (like Bodie Miller and Apollo Ohno) have a Meh, I already know about them and don't care about them vibe...Lindsay Vonn was somehow selected and hyped as the American Princess for the Olympics. The Men's Hockey team has been an awesome surprise...but otherwise, I'm really scrapping the barrel for real emotion here...:dunno:

Joannie Rochette saved the Olympics, imo. Her courage and grace under the worst circumstances imaginable for an athlete who dedicated her life for that moment....truly amazing.

Another Canadian team chokes again. Womens Team Pursuit.

Go Canada.

Fuck, I go to bed for four hours and everything fucks up.

At least the men are going for gold.

is it just me, or are the Canadian woman's curling team looking like a big fucking CHOKE right now? halfway through, down by two? Come on. This seemed like an almost certain gold. Bad day for Canada in these here olympics.

I hope they can pull it out...

Let's hope the hockey team doesn't suffer from "Choke Canada" day too.
