I am curious if the Vuvuzela will make it to the World Cup next year.

Footballers upset as noisy fans blow their own trumpetsCall for ear-splitting vuvuzela to be banned from next year's World Cup in South Africa

Confederations Cup - FIFA to discuss trumpets
FIFA is to discuss the future of the vuvuzela, the noisy plastic trumpet blown at the Confederations Cup which has drawn complaints from European television stations.

Sounds of 2010 : Vuvuzelas
Made of plastic, shaped like a long horn and sounding like a wounded elephant the Vuvuzela is to South African football what the drums are to the South Americans and mass singing is to the Europeans.

Second place qualifiers: France, Croatia, Turkey, Russia (depending on actual fixtures)
I'm quite sur France will not be 1st and we may even not be 2nd. Rumania could be.

Our coach is so stupid

eh. that's what you get at Euro, it's all about bunch of bullshit anyway because they always mismatch teams at the start.

Besides, I think that it might be cliche to say it's not about winning and losing, it's how the game is played, but it is kind of true when it comes to football because you are always looking ahead. Many times we've seen the better team lose, and then come back on top.

It's true which is great. People remember how the game is played. The 1974 Dutch team is one of the most famous teams ever, but they won NOTHING, but they played like superheroes and people think they won the world cup. Which is great. Italy won 1982 but everyone remembers Zico's Brazil.

It is obviously more awesome when you win and also play excellent ie Di Stefano's Real Madrid, Frank Rijkaard/Ronaldinho Barca, Johan Cruyff's Barca, Guardiola/Messi Barca, Brazil 02, Euro 88 Dutch, Late 80's Milan, Kaka's Milan 07. etc but as long as you play awesome, that's what matters to history.

Yeah, it's rather scary, even with a playmaker like Pienaar, who really had a good season. But one man alone is way too little firepower. So they could be the first host nation to not survive the group stage.

Will someone please send a "We wish him well on his future endeavors" memo to Raymond Domenech? How this clown still runs Les Bleus is beyond me....

There is so much talent on the French squad and most of it sits on the bench...game after game after game...

Someone please explane to my why they called the goal back on Altidore yesterday when he clearly was onsides. It really stumped me. IMO just bad FIFA refs at the game last night

^
If there's a replay of the U.S. game I'll try to catch it. Last night I was flipping between 2 college games and only caught snatches of the US game....

Yeah, Domenech is a total idiot he should have been dismissed after the Euro 2008 (fFraznce was eliminated on round stage with 1 draw and to loss) but, since he lead France to the final of WC06 (in fact, Zidane, Thuram, Makélélé and vieira deserved all the credit) he was maintained. And now, I'm hoping France will not be qualified, will loose tonight 'cause I want him to go away, 'cause I know thhe team can do nothing good with him and even if we qualify, SA2010 will be a next Euro2008.

And, the players are not that great, they are over-estimated

USa also they will get their 3 points from T and T, would love to see Mexico lose and miss out on the WC

Austria beating Romania tonight, France losing in Serbia, and we're right back in the hunt...ha ha ha...and then I woke up.

Germany beating Azerbaidjan, Russia drawing Wales, Germany's as good as through.

Croatia beating England...oh yes.

Sweden wins in Malta, hopefully Hungary draws Portugal and Denmark loses to Albania...that would put the Tre kronor in second place.

I have to say, as much as I'm looking forward to the World Cup, once again the qualifying is a joke as always.

England and Spain advanced easily, not just because both teams are great, but also because in their group there is not one team that could have beaten them for the first place in the group. Same goes for the Netherlands and Italy.

All the while, Germany and Russia are struggling for qualification, because they are both equally strong (in their group as well as on an international level). Even though Germany hasn't lost a single qualifying match so far and has the best GD aside from England, it is still possible that Germany doesn't qualify.
And then I'm looking at the CONCACAF, AFC or OFC qualifyings...and most of those teams about to qualify for the World Cup couldn't even score a draw against Germany or Russia...kinda screwed up, if you ask me.
I know, it's a World Cup, but still... no wonder many soccer experts anticipate the European Championship more then the World Cup.

Speaking of the European Championship, I'm looking forward to Germany's women soccer team kicking the crap out of England tomorrow and taking the European Championship for the 7th time. Ha! :D

Hoohoo, Croatia's got a little ass beating today, that must have hurt.

Austria too dumb to close the deal, as always, France choking on their chauvinism, still thinking they're better than the rest.

Sweden not scoring a goal (like Italiy) but still winning 1:0 in Malta, Denmark drawing in Albania and the Portuguese got away with a win in Hungary. This Group 1 will be one to watch: next match day has Denmark hosting Sweden and Portugal playing in Hungary. If Sweden wins and Portugal doesn't, Portugal is out...now that would funny as hell. The allegedly best player in the world sitting at home and watching the WC on his big screen television. Probably he's fucking the hottest Madrilene chicks, but still, no WC.

The other group to watch is Group 4 with Russia hosting Germany on October 10. That should be a great showdown.
