You can't be serious. Ohio State in the Championship after losing to Purdue and SC? Really?

Where is that facepalm smiley anyway....I know I've seen it around here someplace...hmm.

I just had to respond to this somehow. I just spit out a bunch of shit all over my desk when I read it...:1orglaugh:o

I'll take Oregon and Texas, though. Longhorns would be a much worthier opponent than the Buckeyes.

You must not have read the rest of my post. Let me re post it for you.

This is what should be happening.

1)Alabama
8)Ohio State

4)TCU
5)Florida

3)Cincinnati
6)Boise St.

2)Texas
7)Oregon

You may notice the top 8 teams are matched up against one another. 1 playing 8, 2 playing 7, 3 playing 6 and 4 playing 5. It's called playoff seeding. The highest ranked team plays the lowest ranked team. It's crazy I know.

I don’t think any team that loses its conference should be in a play-off system.

I guess the mastery of a seeding system is lost in hippie town.

but....didnt the NCAA say a playoff system causes cancer and gives you warts?

actually i'm kinda getting cozy with Titsrock's idea of a playoff system. Bottom line is this, Stanford is the best team in the land, we just let those other guys win cos we felt sorry for them. So, playoff or no, Stanford is number 1.

there i said it, i know its what we were all thinking. :nanner:

charlie weis just said pete carroll and rick neuheisel have a condo together in malibu they escape to on "Bi" weeks, something we've all suspected for a long time. :wave2:

i should probably put the bong down now.

Where are those games to be played?

I would not (and neither would the Big 10 or Big East) ever support a play off system that has all the games in SEC and Pac 10 country.

That's true. I would like to see bowl games played in the northern states, but I doubt anybody involved with the SEC would be down with that.

It can't be higher seed gets home field advantage, because many teams would probably be tied from their record.

Rotate neutral fields. Like the Super Bowl?

Or, just use the existing BCS Stadiums and don't be afraid to send a #8 Pac10 team to play the #1 in Miami....or a #7 ACC team out to the Rose Bowl.

The only issue is that it can get expensive for fans to be shelling out an additional 3 weeks worth of tix, hotels, etc.....

I don't think it's a big deal where the games are played. Big-time schools are going to travel no matter what. Oklahoma had a good showing in national title game, and that was in Miami playing against Florida. Texas was basically at a home game in USC backyard in the title game as well. Why do think the BCS loves big-time schools(besides money)?

All Bowls love schools that travel well and if the alumni base is broad...all things being equal...the school with the broad alumni base will win that tie every time.

Ah, my bad, didn't realize you were advocating a playoff. An idea I completely support, by the way. Honestly, I've been seeing so many Ohio St homers running around bragging about the Buckeyes and refusing to accept that they're not the greatest team on Earth, that I just figured that post was yet another clueless Buckeye fan. I totally see what you were talking about now though. Sorry 'bout that.

No problemo. :hatsoff:

Playoff system will fix everything, but the BCS does not understand that it would be a extra 3 weeks worth of MONEY being brought it. Also how does Cinncy 2 spots but TCU and BSU remaine 4 and 6 since like the first week of November.

Also the BCS is SCARED to death of having another BSU/OU upset or Utah/Bama upset. They will never again put teams like BSU and TCU into bowl games with major schools.

It's going to be funny when were have 2 undeafeted schools at the end of the season and I can bet you that the winner of BSU and TCU will not be ranked higher than 3rd in the nation. Such is the bullshit of the BCS system

^^He can be serious. It would be step one of a playoff.

he's totally right.

Yeah. He's suggesting seedings, like in the brackets. Doubt it'll happen though. Too much $$ floating around.

Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate will be entering the draft.

I like Clausen. I would prefer him over McCoy/Bradford/Tebow, but he'll probably be the 3rd 4th QB taken, depending on Tebow.

Tate will probably be the 2nd WR taken after Dez Bryant.

News form down South Houston Nutt is listening and think about interviewing for the Kansas job.Yup that's right Ole Miss has been though this before as most of you guys know. They are 17-8 over the last two seasons I say let him go hire Charlie Strong and keep Ken Austin as OC but that is me he is already making 2.5 million that is just a little here say nothing big.The BCS got it wrong again

I could be wrong, but I honestly believe that a well planned playoff system could bring not only a definitive winner, but also higher overall revenues and more fan enjoyment. Instead of hoping for a million dollar payout bowl win, schools could shoot for playoff rounds which each bring in a million or more, paying a school which goes deep into the playoffs several million, or tens of millions for making it to the Championship. My personal dream is also to put that college Championship the Saturday before Super Bowl, drawing from the Super Bowl hype and creating The Greatest Football Weekend Ever.

I can't say I blame them. I don't see Notre Dame turning it around any time soon, and they might as well enter before they get hurt or their stock goes down.

Truth. Staying another year and learning another system would only hurt their draft stock. Gotsta get paid.
