I think we'd have to look at Ingram's Soph stats and compare them to other Soph RBs. Did Ingram turn in the greatest season for a soph rb? Or atleast a Top 3 soph rb season?

To be honest, it was the Bama QB that stole the SEC Championship Glory, not Ingram. Bama had 2 other RBs in that game that all played well. :dunno:

Gerhart should win it if the Vote follows historic norms. If the Voters actually think about the award, and review earlier Nebraska games, maybe Suh will get it. Is it fair to say that Suh would win it based on 1 game's performance? Granted it was a huge game...:dunno:

You make me laugh. Alabama will probably win the Stanley Cup too. Try having an open mind for once. You can't actually believe Ingram deserves the Heisman. Ingram isn't even the best back in the country. It isn't the best player on the best team award. It is the most outstanding player in college football, and that player is Ndamukong Suh. Easily.

But you're probably right. Ingram will probably win because the Heisman is a farce.

ingram will most likely win because of WHO he got his yards on.......bama never had a heisman winner, may never but its 3rd grade math to figure out who took the bull by the horn when they had to have it..i hate to bring this up..but hes the only one thats on a 13 - 0 team....that make you laugh to??

Since team stats and record should have no bearing on an award given to the most outstanding player...ya it does make me laugh.

well hes not on the only team thats 13 0 but he is on the #1 team in the nation i think that alone will get him the prize, you wont hear that on espn but that will be looked @

I wouldn't be mad if Ingram won the Heisman.

Think about it.... Alabama wouldn't be in the title game if it wasn't for his performance mid-season. Though, Gerhart and Suh have been the "most outstanding players in college football".

Gerhart - 311 carries - 1736 yards - 5.6 avg - 26 TDs
Ingram - 249 carries - 1542 yards - 6.2 avg - 15 TDs

Gerhart's a senior. Ingram's a soph.
Gerhart punishes defenders....case in point.......

Give it to Gerhart.

gerhart must have been on the bench against wake forest oregon st arizona and cali..ingram would steam roll them teams...he just got done with the (so called) # 1 team...them teams would be a day off for him:rofl2:

We were doing good until you said that Alabama's schedule is not the toughest in the world either until coaches and the NCAA get off their ass and do something about the BCS the world may never know:dunno:All teams should have a tough schedule and one game they could win easily:thumbsup:

we beat 4 rank teams this year.....and we are 13 0...knocking off the #1 team in the nation alllllll year.bama had a tougher schedule than anyone on any team ingram is in the race with.....bama dont give a damn about no trophy anyway..all bama wanted was to make sure tebow didnt get it..we did that well. after we leave cali...everyone is gunna know who deserved it:wave:

There needs to be a playoff, but I don't think congress should be getting involved.

I have to disagree withyou for the fact do it for the kids not the money so of these guys won't make it to the next level and a chance in cooge is all they get plus I think it really shows to me and everyone else who the best team is

Ya I get what you're saying. A playoff is the only way to determine a real champion. But doesn't congress have more important matters to be dealing with? NCAA football seems pretty trivial in the grand scheme of things. .

yeah, I kinda thought so too.

But upon further reflection, think of the number of people this affects, how much money is involved, and how it would impact college academics for those students, and so forth, it turns into a pretty major deal.

No, you're right. Congress should likely be running the country, not allowing the country to be run by college football.

I agree with what they are trying to do, and I am glad they are doing it, it just shouldn't have to come to this. Same with the whole steroid scandal a while back.

Obviously wins and losses depend greatly on one's supporting cast.

Based on these yards per carry totals it looks to me like Gerhardt's more consistent/reliable. Not a single bad game (Ingram had 2) and only 2 pushover opponents (as opposed to Alabama's 4)

Gerhart

Washington State 5.3
Wake Forest 4.8
San Jose State 4.7
Washington 7.4
UCLA 4.6
Oregon State 4.8
Arizona 4.4
Arizona State 4.6
Oregon 5.9
USC 6.1
California 6.8
Notre Dame 7.1

Ingram

Virginia Tech 5.8
Florida International 5.6
North Texas 11.4
Arkansas 2.9
Kentucky 6.4
Mississippi 6.1
South Carolina 10.3
Tennessee 5.5
LSU 6.5
Mississippi State 7.8
Chattanooga 9.3
Auburn 1.9
Florida 4.0

C'mon... Bama schedule wasn't tough. They only beat 1 team currently ranked in the top 25 on their schedule. Saturday they beat Florida, which now makes 2. This wasn't your typical SEC year.

With that said, I still think Alabama is the best team in the county, and it might not be close.

Very good point my friend but it seems the higher powers have spoken:thumbsup:
