Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Am I the only one who hates Boise State? I can't stand that they play on a blue field. They are one of the teams that I root against whenever they play.

I don't hate them but I am puzzled why they would be ranked so high. Who have they beaten that warrants being ranked 6th (I know...they beat Oregon but the rest of their schedule has been soft....that equals a 6 rank??)? Iowa is undefeated too and they beat Penn State so....:dunno::wtf:

I don't get it....I never will. Boise State is really good but....6th? Do the pollsters consider the WAC to be tougher than the Big 10? Evidently so....

I think the time to get rid of Big Game Bobby is when OU no longer gets to the big one....

I think we all know (except maybe Bama fan) that it would be a different OU team with Bradford out there. Florida has got to watch it because teams are going to be headhunting Tebow now. Knock him out--beat the Gators.:dunno:

bradford was there last year and florida beat the brakes off them.....bottom line ...okl lost 2 games and we not even half thru the season..can okl just step away and quit crying.......they wont be in nobodys way this year....instead of running the score up on highschool teams....they should have been giving the 2nd unit qb more playing time = bad coaching....by the way bama lost a hell of a lb that got hurt.......but we are not a one man team

<chuckle> "smoknn" you are going to be on suicide watch if 'Bama chokes this season......with all the smack you're running....

Just make sure "ya'll comeback now,(to FOs if it happens) ya hear"?:D

Maybe we should take down what sides you like served with your crow just in case.:1orglaugh

No.

What exactly do you mean by "beat the brakes off them"? That was a close game all the way into the 4th quarter.

Plus, did you just compare a Heisman trophy QB to some LB?

Also, the only person I see crying is you. Every time Oklahoma or USC gets a little attention, you come on this board and start having a fit. I actually think you're a little jealous. Maybe when Bama does something significant, some of the spotlight will come on them. But, for now, you're still the team who has done shit lately.

OU lost not because of lack of talent (their players did the best their abilities allowed them to), but lack of COACHING.

They were out coached. Their Offensive Coordinator called awful plays. When they were on their own 25 and ran a HB Draw on 3rd and 12 out of the shotgun. REALLY?!?

Horrible play calling. And their secondary all needs to be on the same page, and when a CB leaves his man to cover another man, the FS or SS needs to pick up the route and not let the WR to run the slant wide open.

Plays like that are called when you don't trust your QB. OU didn't throw the ball down the field once. I can't wait 'til we get Bradford back.

That's the irony when coaches do that.....they lose the game trying not to run plays they think will cause them to lose.

To me, you make a team prove they can defend plays you call....you don't refrain from calling plays before you know if your team can run them nor do you avoid plays before the opposition demonstrates they have an advantage to stop them.:dunno:

I still say that the Big10 is the suckiest conference to ever oversuck anywhere. Plus they suck. A lot.

Oh really? Did the coaches tell Dominique Franks to leave Travis Benjamin all alone in the middle of the field at the 15 yard line so he could score a TD without a Sooner within 10 yards of him?

I'll grant you the offensive play calling was suspect but Miami's defense had everything to do with Oklahoma's inability to score (except for that gimme TD they got after that phantom roughing call on Joseph) in the second half. The better team won....Miami beat OU....period. End of story.

You guys had better forget about Miami and start thinking about the Baylor Bears next Saturday. Bradford will be back....you can still win the conference.

Oh, no question. Miami was the better team on the field.

I think the point SN4P3 was trying to make was that it's pretty hard to overlook the players on the sideline. Thats a lot of potential millions($$$) who are not even playing. Still, with that said, OU had a very capable team, but just didn't get it done.

Also, I don't think that "roughing the kicker" penalty was a bad call. I don't know what they showed or said on TV, but the announcer said that the guy ran into his plant leg. If thats the rule, then it was called correctly because the replay showed the player falling into the player's leg. Is it stupid? Yes... but thats the rule I guess. :dunno:

Football dispute leaves 2 dead

An Escambia County couple died Saturday after an argument over the Alabama/LSU football game ended in shotgun blasts, according to Conecuh County authorities.

District Attorney Tommy Chapman identified the people killed as Dennis and D o n n a Smith (not the porn chick) of Appleton Road near Brewton.

The shooting allegedly occurred about 7 p.m. at the home of Michael Williams near the Owassa community in Conecuh County, Chapman said.

Williams was arrested, Chapman said, and charged with two counts of murder.

Dispatchers at the Conecuh County Sheriff's Office declined to comment about the case.

Investigators said witnesses told them that Dennis Smith, an LSU fan, called Williams, a fan of the Crimson Tide, after the game Saturday evening and an argument ensued.

Officers said Donna Smith was a relative of Michael Williams' girlfriend.

Soon, the Smiths arrived at Williams' home and the men wound up in a physical altercation, officers said.

Smith retrieved a pistol from his vehicle, and threatened Williams, who armed himself with a shotgun and fired two blasts, striking and killing Dennis Smith, officers said.

Donna Smith then threatened Williams, who shot and killed the woman, they said.

Investigators said alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the killings, and the investigation was ongoing late Sunday.

If you've every tailgated at an LSU game, you'd understand... I love the sentence "...alcohol may have been a factor."
