Bama's okay this year(lucky IMO). Oklahoma sucks this year. So, he has bragging rights for now.
Really? Why? What has Bama won? By smoknn's own admission (basically) the only thing that matters to Bama is the SEC Championship first, the NC second and nothing else matters.:dunno:

Besides, the last time your teams met--wasn't it an Okie blowout win?

This is why it is important to know your football history:thumbsup:

Well, it wasn't a blowout, but OU is 2-0 against Alabama this decade.

But I really don't take pride in beating inferior opponents.

I guess this is what I get for listening to local sports talk on my way to the store this morning I was listening to a local sports radio station and some how the subject came along of Mayer leaving Flordia if Weis was fired Notre Dame in which I thought was very funny seeing how Flordia is trying to win a National Champion and also how Notre Dame would wait until after Flordia won the National Champion that if Flordia makes it of course so what do you guys think if it happens it would be another champion for Mayer and Flordia and a pretty sweet job for any coach I mean it's Notre Dame. What do you guys think I mean really :dunno:

I am so glad my Duke Blue Devils are finally PLAYING some football this year. 5W-4L isn't too bad. Especially compared to a few years ago when the remained winless over entire seasons.

Alabama isn't even in the top 5. Very sad.

i dont know where your getting your stats???? bama has 12 national titles...i guess your starting the first year the okl showboats won the first...need to check up.....and little little heisman trophy chasers=1 man teams is why okl is where they are now.....is bradford the only man in okl that can throw a football.......if bamas qb went down ..we got 3 more.....(we need a football chat room to fight in) :rofl2:

There is no way that Urban Meyer will leave Florida for Notre Dame. He is at a place where he can cherrypick recruits, make a lot money, live in one of the best states and compete for an NC every year.

Why would he leave? Notre Dame would be considered a major step backward for him. The Irish won't allow him to recruit *elite* athletes. Tim Tebow probably could not qualify to play for Notre Dame today. I believe notre dame turned Carson Palmer away because of academic requirements.

The high school and middle school players of today have no nostalgic fondness for notre dame. It's just a school in rural Indiana.

notre dame is basically the Gonzaga of college football today. A mid-major program that talks a big game :thefinger

I hear ya, TR. Very compelling argument except the only problem is for some reason college coaches tend to defy a logically sound argument. its the damndest thing i ever saw! lol

franchione leaving TCU to go Bama is a good example. TCU said they'd match any offer Bama gave him but he left. Im sure TCU wouldnt even expect half the acheivements Bama would have. Of course franchione realized he was in over his head soon enough and fled to A&M and there was exposed as the mediocre coach he was. Had he taken TCU's offer to match Bama, I've no doubt he'd still be at TCU today. TCU would not be the team they are today. Bama would have been mediocre and eventually fired him and A&M probably would have found a better coach. But arrogance, in this case Franchiones arrogance brought better days for TCU and Bama and worst days for A&M.

during that 16 month span, Franchione was one of the most sought out coaches and now he's all but gone. college coaches are the wierdest career barometers ever to infect the job market.

all that said, i agree, urban would be a fool to leave florida for notre dame. lol

To be honest, who knows how many championships anyone has.

Alabama claims they have 12... but some say they only have 11.... or as many as 16. Who knows?

Oklahoma on the other hand only claims the AP titles(7). When technically, they could say they have 17.

It's all pretty iffy, if you ask me.

is bradford the only man in okl that can throw a football.......if bamas qb went down ..we got 3 more.....(we need a football chat room to fight in) :rofl2:

Anyone who knows OU football knows we lost more than just Sam Bradford. But you live in your little bubble so I don't expect you to.

Well, OU could say they same in the 20s and 30s where Bama won like 5 national titles.

And dude, you lost to Utah!!!! The game wasn't even close. It was an embarrassment!!!! And to think, you were one game from going to the title game. :1orglaugh

That wasn't even a strong OU team. We would have been happy to make it the Holiday Bowl, but Colt McCoy got injured and Texas lost 2 games towards the end of the season.

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
Cincinnati and WVU in a real dogfight at the half, 14-14. The Bearcats must find a way to win this game if they are to keep whatever slim hopes they have for a possible BCS championship alive. Entertaining game so far....

Erroneous! The Boilermakers will win this one. They'll also win next week to become bowl eligible. And after starting 1-5, who would have thought that was going to be possible. We had a huge win over the Wolverines last week. It's time to do the same thing to Sparty. Boiler Up!

The Ohio State University earns a Rose Bowl birth with a win over Iowa.

Badgers beat the Wolverines.

Boilers beat Sparty.

Gamecocks give the Gators a game.

Pittsburgh pounds Notre Dame.

Utah upsets TCU.

Arizona wins at Berkley.

If my team were "Chokelahoma," I'm not sure I'd be talking smack about Alabama... at least right now. ;) You do realize that Bama was 1 qtr away from playing for all the marbles, they just didn't show up in the 1st half against a very good and determined Utah team. Now, would you like to discuss all of OU's big losses over the last 5 years? I don't think you do...

Well, if you read my previous posts, I'm totally aware of Bama's success right now, and OU struggles.

I just find it hypocritical that Alabama fans are talking about OU lose to Boise State. I have nothing against Alabama, but when Bama fans start talking shit about the OU program, I'm going to respond.

Would you like to talk about Alabama's struggles since about, I don't know.... 1992? How many losing seasons have you had this decade?
