what I want to happen in the UCL:
Villareal beats Arsenal and Porto beats Manchester
Liverpool beats Chelsea and Bayern beats Barcelona

then Villarreal beats Porto and Bayern beats Liverpool
and Bayern is the champion!!

but I think Arsenal will beat Villarreal, Manchester will beat Porto and Barcelona will beat Bayern (but Bayern have chances) and the grand final will be Manchester vs Barcelona or Bayern (great match)!!!

Admittedly, the goal against Breda shows more technical skill, but for me the goal against Italy is such a freak shot, and it came in stoppage time and it was an equaliser...and I was heavily drunk while watching it and just couldn't believe it.

I remember that game... I'm a big Azzurra fan and I was so mad after this goal!!

That's a GREAT draw of Arsenal. I think we can get by Villareal. Mancs have a walkover with Porto. What a shock....

Barca vs Bayern will easily be for one of the final slots. I favor Bayern right now. I actually was hoping for a Barca v Arsenal draw and a Liverpool v Bayern draw.

WORLD FOOTBALL CHALLENGE ANNOUNCED for this summer

We've talked about a Summer Cup/Tour in the U.S. for Big Euro Teams before. I put out the *theory* that the American owners of Liverpool, ManU, Aston Villa and Arsenal (Stanley Kroenke) would start something like "The American Shield" and battle in a single elimination cup over the summer in rotating US cities...well...the DAY HAS COME!

Not exactly....but sort of.

Chelsea, Inter, Club America and AC Milan to face off in U.S.

Well, congratulations to Australia for being the first qualified team (besides South Africa), it was a well deserved win against Uzbekistan.

Porto were a joy to watch against Man United and should have won by a few goals but it is a good result for them to take back to Portugal.

Man, that was a slap in the face. Not that Bayern is disgracing itself in every national contest they're in at the moment (like the Bundesliga), they have to show their overpaid incompetence on the international stage as well....that was sad and... quite frankly...I am a little bit ashamed.

I think Arsenal probably "whammied" itself with all the talk about teams FEARING Arsenal because of their incredible form. I do believe that Arsenal's style of football can be intimidating, but, they have to ALSO be HEALTHY to play that style! All of the defensive injuries piling up at once pretty much doomed the team against Chelski who have...hmm..no injuries at the moment (none that matter anyway.)

It's too bad because I did think that the FA Cup was going to go to Arsenal and the CL was probably the domain of the mancs or chelski.

But, having said that, and now our patchwork Defense has seen a top quality team...I think we can sneak by the mancs and get to the CL final again. We really need Clichy and Sagna back. Song is a good defender in the midfield and can cover Gallas's absence but only if we have our speedy defenders on the outside, I think.
