MLB Trivia

Combined perfect game no. Combined no hitters I think 3 times.

I have 2 trivia's and 1 question.

Who is the only AL swith hitter who hit 2HR's in the same inning?

Who are the only 2 battery mates that are credited for 1 grand slam each in the same game?

Q: Has there ever been a no hitter/perfect game thrown by multiple pictures in a single game. I do nothink it has ever happened.

Being a SFG fan, I should know this ...

This year. Madison Bumgarner and Buster Posey. :)

Closest to a combined perfect game was Babe Ruth / Ernie Shore for the Red Sox in 1917. Ruth walked the first batter, argued balls and strikes (and tried to fight the umpire). Shore came in, the runner at first was out stealing. Shore retired the next 26 in order. No-hitter, but not a perfect game.

Ebbits Field, Polo Grownds. That was easy.

During Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak he did 2 other things 56 times. Name them.

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Steve Barber facing Detroit in the first game of a doubleheader at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore in April 1967. He took a no-hitter and a 1-0 lead into the ninth inning despite bouts of wildness.

Barber walked the first two batters in the ninth, and then retired the next two. But he threw a wild pitch that let the tying run score. After another walk, he was pulled from the game.

Stu Miller relieved, and the Tigers scored the go-ahead run on an error. The Tigers wound up winning, 2-1, despite getting no hits. Barber’s line that afternoon: 8 2/3 innings, 10 walks, no hits, 2 hit batters, a wild pitch and a throwing error.

56 runs scored is correct but he only drove 55. There's another 56 out there.
