Comparing the sentences for different charges isn't the best argument. Honestly, most people facing Lohan's original conviction would have spent a few hours in jail, a fine and a suspended license. While I agree that it's ridiculous to populate jails with people who sell pot (or any ***** for that matter) Lohan really didn't catch a break here. I know people with multiple DUIs who've yet to serve a full day in jail...unfortunately.
She's going to have to spend about 20 days in county. Then a long probation and a suspended license for over a year. Plus she'll be impossible to insure, so she has no movie career to look forward to any time soon. She really fucked herself..she won't even be able to get paid to do club promotions like all the other Hollywood tardettes do.

That's bullshit...at least if I'm reading your comment correctly (my apologies if I have not). The notion that: behind every addict there's enablers or fair weather friends, is not only offensive and incorrect, it's...well, "enabling". Another reason for an individual to put blame elsewhere.
The only enablers in addiction are those who make excuses in hindsight. That's why weighing in on politically calculated rehab stints has become a spectator sport. Unfortunately, everybody loves being a moral or tactical arbiter in hindsight. But we only do it in regard to "diseases" that have shown to be something that can be suppressed by educational and behavioral modification. Nobody dare puts the blame on people who, for example, "enabled" or "dismissed the warning signs" of people who'd eventual become convicted rapists, pedophiles, wife beaters or *********. The critical finger pointers among us award themselves such tolerances.
Bullshit. Her lawyer got her the standard dui cakewalk. Now unless Lindsey is prepared to pay this lawyer $400 per hour to be her chaperon too....that lawyer's job was done when she stopped collecting a fee for her work.
A lawyer gets you into those silly thought reform classes in lieu of going to jail, a lawyer gets you fined in lieu of going to jail and a lawyer gets you probation in lieu of going to jail....
Lohan got all of that...she's the one in charge of getting herself through a silly 3 month class...in 3 years...she's the one who's suppose to have her ass in town to make a court date...she's the one who is suppose to keep ******* out of her mouth when she's wearing that tattle bracelet....
What is her lawyer supposed to do...babysit this one client (for free)...at the expense of all her other business???
Lohan is the fool...if she was determined to go to jail for an otherwise pedestrian affair...she should have went into court and took the jail time in the first place rather than stringing this case out...and wasting her money in legal fees...:2 cents:

I'm sorry but the thread title makes me laugh every time I see it. I know it depends on where you live, but to me, "Gaol" sounds like something from Star Trek or something like that. How did Lindsay go from legal troubles to rim-jobbing a Klingon?

I hope she finally quits that crowd she seems to have hung out way too ,uch, these guys seem to be absolutely okay to ***** and do other ***** while around a person who has to try to break her addictions.
But it is her responsibility to come clean. And if she puts herself into situations thatz make herself break her steps forward and falls back into the old ways, she has it coming.
Every addict has to hit some kind of rock bottom, and Lindsey Lohan has it real good. She gets a slap on the hand with those few days in jail. And probably the same jail treatment as Paris Hilton.
I really hope she learns from this. Because she is really not untalented, I have seen some nice movies starring her, and second: She is a very nice person.
