I wish I could root for Mexico now that the U.S. is out since I'm Hispanic but the U.S. and Mexico are bitter rivals on the pitch, so there is no way me as a die hard fan of the national team can root for Mexico.

Wow...I don't think this Argentine goalkeeper will take them through to the finals. Besides his half-hearted attempt at stopping Mexico's 1st goal, he got lucky early in the match when the ball went through his hands and hit the sidepost.

Though I never thought they were good enough to win the tournament or even beat Germany, that was just rubbish. The so called "Golden Generation" (yes, I'm looking at you Gerrard, Lampard and Terry) should retire from international football.

I don't believe the skills aren't as easily translatable as you may think.Best goal of the tournament for me. This World Cup's been **** poor in terms of striking talent. We're right in the middle of one of those periods where everyone feels like defensive football rules, thanks to the likes of Greece in 2004 and Jose Mourinho at Inter.

Here come the excuses. The fact is that the England football team is ****. Technically we are completely inferior to the vast majority of the best countries from Europe and South America, and possibly even some in Africa. We will never win a major tournament again until we learn how to pass and keep the ball probably. Schweinsteiger made Gerrard and Lampard look what they are - two guys who are great at scoring goals, long-range shooting and running around the pitch like headless chickens, but technically inferior and incapable of playing killer passes.
Defensively we were a complete and utter joke - what kind of a team, with a whole 25 minutes left in a match and just one goal down, leaves ONE DEFENDER BACK? I'll tell you what kind of team - England. I was actually hoping that Germany would keep banging in the goals just to make that utter cunt John Terry look worse and worse. It was completely embarrassing - and we will go through this all over again in 2012 until, as a country, we understand that keeping and passing the ball is they key to winning - not pace, strength and stamina.
And as for this business of the Germans 'not being from Germany', this just makes my ***** boil to such an extent that I really should stop typing now for fear that I may say something I might regret. Apparently some people though don't understand the concept of, y'know, being allowed to move and work in other countries.
