It's the GAS PRICES - Stupid!!!

Gas prices: Worse than '81 oil shock
Gas now at highest level, even adjusted for inflation; AAA's reading of nearly $3.20 a gallon marks ninth straight record high in current dollars.

This is the sole reason that I'm voting Democratic in 2008. We need change and I'm not talking change at the pump.

Congress needs to mandate a law that requires the auto makers to give us a car that gets 100 MPG or uses no fuel at all. Do something instead of opening your hands to Lobbyists from the Oil Companies that give you kickbacks. Grrrrrrrr!!!

The technology is there!!!!

I always bought high gas mileage cars. I had two that got over 44 mpg on the highway. Today they were talking about record sales for SUV's, so I suppose some people thought they were getting them cheap.

Some town in California umm starts with a "C" , anywho it was $4.99 a gallon over a week ago. *shakes head* Where will it end? I'll bet the planes and trains are happy, many won't go by car anywhere this year. I'm sure on the flip side it will hurt many beaches, resort towns and theme parks. Most people will be making their own fun at home this year.

it certainly sucks, but it isn't that bad when you think about how expensive gas is in sooooo many other countries. like $6.50! or more! but i think we'll be there eventually.
and why would the government even be allowed to make a law like that? this is a capitalist country. we live in a free market economy. supply and demand, supply and demand. it's just good business.

don't drive!! buy a bicycle, walk, take the bus or train.
contrary to what so many people always say, about how you need to drive, you don't! i rarely drive anymore and have went years at a time without driving. it's overrated.

Jesus Christ! I don't know if anyone else looked at the photos from that link, but $52 for 10.4 gallons of gas??? That is fucking obscene!:thefinger

I've never heard of Gorda, California before. I'm not sure where it is in the state, but I would have expected something like this in Needles. That's consistantly the highest gas I've ever seen personally.

Stop complaining. Where I live in Scotland it cost £1 per Litre. That works out to $7.58 for just one measly gallon of gas!

but you guys are much more responsible with driving over there. you guys dont drive nearly as much as americans.

Of course there aren't as much cars and traffic like in the states but still it sucks for the individual that drives alot..

hell , sometimes it feels like i need a pipeline directly to my car and with the prizes we are facing i would have to be a millionaire

It is $4.40-$4.80/gallon here !!!

Where do you live? How many miles do you drive per year?

Hey! I just made a revelation. Why are all ther conversions into American $ and American Gallons?

That's crazy. It's us Americans that should be doing the converting since we are the only country that uses this archaic measuring system.

Now if someone could teach me how to convert gallons to liters I would be better. :)

I am curious. This has been in effect for how long? What were your prices last year? I think the main concern with us here is the fact there has been just a " BAM " type effect. It seems to conveniently hit each year in the Spring too. I get angry most at that fact. Its just a marketing stab and bleed I know it is. Supply and demand and being at their mercy. :2 cents:

According to the "Lundberg Poll" (whatever that is) Chicago has the highest average price in the nation..........YIPPIE!

I'd rather get the Olympics!
